Sounds like something from a nazi-indoctrination documentary. "Students accepted the hateful ideology wothout resistance." Or some **** like that.

Like hell, with their unions, it's nearly impossible for a teacher to be fired for anything other than abuse or an illegal charge like rape or child pornography...

It doesn't take much to get a teacher fired. If it did, my mom and her coworkers wouldn't be constantly worrying about it. Trust me when I say that, at least in my case, the problems in school come a lot more from the board of ed and the school magical fairy princessistrators than from the teachers. They buy flat screens and pay for useless workshops to make themselves look productive when they can't even afford to fix the cracked floors (which exist because the school literally doesn't have a foundation) and heating. The teachers had to take a pay freeze a couple years in a row just to avoid people getting fired and then some of them got fired anyway because of some costs that apparently weren't accounted for before they agreed to it. This teacher is a freaking idiot, but some of them actually do want their students to learn.

Sorry about your mom anon.

As far as im concerned if you are literally throwing education back into the face of the student, than you do not deserve to teach.

Being a teacher is not just about teaching, but to constantly learn too, and to own up to your mistakes. Now if you are going to punish a student for teaching you in return? That is absolutely ridiculous. Unions or not. You **** up, you deserve to take the consequences. And in this case, acting like an omnipotent, yeah i think that deserves either A: find a new job. or B: A lesson in humility. Big time.

Not disagreeing with you there. People who put pride ahead of progress are morons. They definitely have no place instructing the next generation. Luckily, although it may not seem that way from what you commonly hear about teachers, most of them went into the profession because they want to help people learn. Don't worry, by the way. As long as there is a steady flow of students for my mom's class, it's unlikely that they'll fire her.
