I hated that scene in the movie... at least in the book he fixed his old wand first then destroyed the elder wand as it made sense to get rid of something that powerful...

Small correction: he didn't destroy the wand, he put it back in Dumbledore's tomb.

That is the only thing that I found disappointing about the last two movies. That, and the fact that Dobby kills Peter in the movies when Peter kills himself with his silver hand in the book.

Yeah they changed some pretty big stuff in the crossover from novel to movie, that's to be expected, but I felt just destroying the elder wand without first fixing his really didn't make sense... Yeah and the hand part was pretty cool in the book as it showed that wormtail still felt bad for James' death
