Clearly you've never played DCS: A-10C. It is literally the most realistic ******* game I've ever seen.

Like, when you start a mission, they put you on the ramp in a stone dead aircraft, and you have to start it up--the engines, the electronics, weapons systems, navigation, etc.

A ******* start-up sequence. In a game, man. I had to take ******* notes.

And that's just to get it off the ground.

You've never played DCS: Black Shark I take it. It's like A-10C, but with a helicopter.

I was just about to say that. Also, in IL-2 Sturmovik, getting a bomber off the ground was a pain in the ass, if I remember correctly

^This guy know's what hes talking about, ******* most complex game I've ever seen in my years of existence.

i literally had to write down the start up sequence from button to button so i would know how to just start the goddamn plane, i think it was like 50 steps. and that's just getting the goddamn thing off the ground. i'm still trying to figure out how to use all the weapons system's.

No Dark Souls?
User avatar #478 to #374 - trostell (01/29/2013) [-]
Except Dark Souls is only "hard" in the sense that it limits the player, instead of actually being difficult for the average player like, say, ArmA 2 multiplayer.
User avatar #375 to #374 - Vpirate (01/26/2013) [-]
Dark Souls just goes straight up.
#378 to #375 - AngryPlatypus (01/26/2013) [-]
And then you hit Ornstein & Smough, and it does a backflip and a loop-the-loop before going off the charts.

then evens out at about half of DF
User avatar #379 to #374 - lostluke (01/26/2013) [-]
I'd say it's more knowledge than skill based though, I mean you need skill to play it but when you know what the ***** going on it gets much easier!
User avatar #384 to #379 - AngryPlatypus (01/26/2013) [-]
And that is why the learning curve is so great. You actually have to see an enemy, pay attention to everything it could possibly throw at you, and plan ahead. You can't just breeze through the game just because you have "skill." You have to play it carefully and pay attention, and many people don't like it because of that.
User avatar #388 to #384 - lostluke (01/26/2013) [-]
But it was a curve for skill and not knowledge? I think the skill level goes down as you learn more (Not saying it's easy in any way) I personally love the fact it does this and that's why it's one of the best games ever
User avatar #391 to #388 - AngryPlatypus (01/26/2013) [-]
I suppose so, you win.
User avatar #393 to #391 - lostluke (01/26/2013) [-]
Not to say knowledge isn't a kind of skill you acquire from using other skills in the game, so you could also look at needing multiple lines!

Well 4 gate is basically dead now, no more ramp warp in, its basically a free win if you play against a 4 gate, only way to lose it is if you play greedy and don't get sentries out in time to FF

User avatar #18 to #8 - scooba (01/26/2013) [-]
Back when 4 gate was still viable it would get crushed by Terran air. Heart of the Swarm Protoss got some nice air unit additions, however, making air Terran harder, but still probably the best option.

The only involvement i have with anything industrial is my noctis so i can salvage sites when i clear them :) and well the 15 or so miners in my alliance that swarm bs rats with like 30 drones and the bs is just taking the drones so they call me in and there is just a big cluster **** of ships all bumping about in complete chaos because a single rat turned up at the belt...

for the price of a navy scorp, its better get a rattlesnake if you want tank, they are holding steady at around 500mill +- and better still is you can easilly get a passive shield tank of over 2.5 K dps while putting out over 1K dps. only thing is that its a real skill intensive ship, your going to need maxed out or damn near maxed out drone skills to fly properly. another thing is if you need isk, incursions! HQ sites pay 31.5 mill a site and 7K LP average site in a good fleet is about 15 mins or so
#452 to #166 - thamuz (01/27/2013) [-]
The Typhoon is without a doubt, the *most* skill point intensive ship in the game(at least for its tier) You literally need almost all your skills at 5 just to fit it decently, and even more so to tank it well.

I <3 my Phoon, but shes a hanger bitch. The Tempest gets the workout.
User avatar #460 to #452 - moc (01/27/2013) [-]
only till the proposed changes they have in store for it, the phoon is going to be changed from a neut/torp/AC boat to have only one form of DPS

Just what we need. Another cruise missile hurling boat. People kept QQing that the Phoon is too hard to fly and now we get another Raven.

User avatar #451 to #126 - thamuz (01/27/2013) [-]
The Caldari are just jealous because they dont know how guns work,so they just throw missiles at your face.

The Gallente..well,I dont really know what to think of their phallus shaped ships.

The Ammarians have a real thing for birds. Is it always thanksgiving over there?

We Winmatar took all their garbage, and a soldering iron and managed to patch enough of a flying scrapheap to get it to space. And kick ass with it.

The tengu is a hell of a lot different to the tengu, the tengu is just a machine when it comes to ratting, which is my favorite pass time on eve, especially when i'm in null, mining's all well and good to make a ton of money but in the end you still need to get up to a trade hub to make a lot of iskies. but hey, if you are a minmatar pilot then go ahead :)

I was wanting to play EVE Online but then I heard that it was a monthly sub (not able to do so) and that you have to slave yourself to get into things, but after you get into a big...Alliance? The game basically becomes free. Could someone explain that to me? (Do they sell the in-game money and give you some or...?
#321 to #296 - thamuz (01/26/2013) [-]

1)yes and no. Theres ways you cna make it free for you(get good skills, and make lots of money, and you can buy your game time in game, right now,in my region,1 PLEX[timecard about 14.99 in USD] runs about 550M-660 million. While,it is a lot of money, you can easily make that in a few weeks with decent skills while mining or doing other things.

In eve,you are a Demigod. Immortal to most people. When you die,you are given a new life in a new body. You lose whatever you had on you,so cargo, ship, ammo, items to fit the ship with, are lost, unless you can claim them before the guy who killed you takes them.

Your skills CAN take a hit but thats if you are a tardmonkey who doesnt update his clone. I have about 5 million skill points and my clone can hold 6.1 million skill points. As long as your current clone doesnt exceed your replacement clone, you wont lose skill points when you die.

And no Im not in a very large corp or a very large alliance.

What the hell. Apparently, if you play DF, you will at one point actually experience some sort of temporal shift and travel to the past. In addition, the game has the ability to exist in two or even three different difficulty states (y-axis) in the same x-coordinate, in other words, at the same time.

Conclusion: Dwarf Fortress is some quantum **** , yo.

Every since that dungeon queue **** . All it is is dungeon grind till endgame and that takes less than a month if you're good.

Me and all my friends played in BC and over the summer we all hopped on, me and another friend went on vacation for 6 days came back friends went from 40-70s including college classes and work.

You can get to 90 in about a week by following the right quests +The recruit a friend crap REALLY speeds it up. And it's not only the leveling. The raids now are easier than punching helpless blind puppies who have no feet. It's so easy and messed up you feel more bad than good. (Not even a hint of enjoyment...) And note. Someone must have been butt hurt and thumbed you down a few times, sorry mate.
