I always saw those two as the downsyndrome cousins of mario and luigi.

Even as a kid I wanted to break waluigi's neck and throw him in a litterbox

I would love a stealth-based platformer starring Waluigi.

Where he robs banks, museums, art galleries, and stuff like that? You know that could actually work quite well

Plus, I learned that Red and Green are complimentary colours (Mario and Luigi). And Purple and Yellow are complimentary colours as well (Wario and Waluigi).

All of you are actually wrong, they have L and R, but they're both the same letter (Yes, I know the japanese alphabets are mostly word/syllable based, but you get what I mean). Their R/L sound is most often a hybrid between the two letters, but this depends on your dialect. This is not just the case with japanese, but with most far eastern languages.

For pronounciation purposes, it sounds a little like a softer D.

What are you trying to say? His Japanese name is "Waluigi". Because of their accent, it's read "Wa-ru-i-gi".
