Death Grips. A very polarizing hip hop/noise/punk/experimental group. They are worth a listen but don't set your expectations too high. I'd suggest listening to Beware, Takyon, Fever, Get Got, and I've Seen Footage to start off in terms of songs, unless you like going with full albums then just listen to their discography in order. They are only about 45 minutes each.

As much as I hate to say it, this is actually pretty accurate, but the chorus of most songs from any time period is pretty repetitive (Yes, I know there are exceptions to this rule). Even if you look back in the past. The real difference is in the fact that a lot of famous artists today make their verses repetitive as well as the chorus. I think a real test of the repetitiveness of a song comes from examining the verses, not the chorus.

Actually I think he's comparing the popularity of the band compared to quality of lyrics...

Let's face it, Rihanna is one of the biggest singers of recent times, Queen were one of the biggest back then.

In my opinion, better lyrics come from less known groups (due to the fact that it's easier to get famous with **** but "catchy" lyrics). Groups like that stay less known. So when you get bands like Queen, Radiohead etc. that do make it that big, it really feels like a ******* miracle.

Queen is not Freddie and the backup singers.
It's Queen.
Yes, he wrote this song, but not all of it. Most of the chords, melodies, and words, probably. The rest of the band are musicians too, and without them, the song would have sucked.
Also, it isn't self produced. It's produced by the band and Roy Thomas Baker.

No man, Freddie complete created this whole song. It's a medley of a bunch of songs that he wrote and he just decided to mash them up. Thats why it makes pretty much no sense. Still awesome though

I have a hard time believing that he wrote all the drum parts, considering how odd some of them are... and even if he had, interpretation is everything.
#207 to #202 - Vanquix (01/17/2013) [-]
Considering how odd they are should make it MORE believable that he did it haha. Also, what do you mean by interpretation is everything? like the way the drummer chose to play the part?

Am I suppose to know the song on the left?
I love how the internet works. "We hate POP music, let's find every fact about it, including the team behind a random song made to be easely swallowed by the today youth". "We hate Twilight too, let's find every picture, fact and quote about it."

You know, one of the ways to deal with boring or stupid things is to ignore it... I wouldn't know when the last Twilight movie was released if it wasn't for all the "It finally ends" posts.... wtf? Do you know what you're doing? There are people that go to see the Twilight movies just so they can stay in touch with the bashing fad. AND THIS MAKES TWILIGHT EVEN MORE POPULAR.

How did this post became so much Twilight related... maybe because i still don't know wtf this song is about and I don't intend to find out. Do yourself a favor or do something similiar.

Sure, just put in the chorus of Beyonce's song.
There are other verses in the song where she sings.
Also, you just pick one bad recent song, and one good bad song. Beyonce has some amazing songs.
You could flip that around and you'd look pretty stupid.

Anon because I'll get thumbed down without people caring to read/reply.

The internet is starting to over hype bohemian rhapsody.
Yeah it's good, but it's not the greatest song in history.
Plus, the more we hear of this, the more people disagree with this theory.

We live in a generation where we have access to all kinds of music, many by unknown artists better than the mainstream. You just have to look for it.
Of course, just because it's mainstream doesn't mean it's bad. Don't be a hipster. It's okay to not like certain aspects, but enjoy the music if it's to your fancy.

Besides, music changes.
Remember when music had no lyrics and focused on relating to your emotions and not your experiences? Beethoven and Bach in this mother! (I don't know many classical composers.)
#138 to #137 - anon (01/17/2013) [-]
I don't think the point is to praise Bohemian Rhapsody but to condemn "Run the World" because it apparently takes over triple the amount of writers and producers to make it.

Someone could have put any song that takes only 1 writer/producer to make, and the point would still stand.
User avatar #140 to #137 - bronynexgen (01/17/2013) [-]
And that Freddie Mercury admitted that Bohemian Rhapsody had no meaning, it was just gibberish.
User avatar #141 to #140 - sketchysketchist (01/17/2013) [-]
If so, then anyone can make a long as song with no meaning and people will just fill in the blanks.
User avatar #143 to #141 - bronynexgen (01/17/2013) [-]
Yup. But they have to make it sound as good and as potentially meaningful as that. You think there is meaning in the lyrics, when there really isn't.
User avatar #147 to #143 - sketchysketchist (01/17/2013) [-]
It's like comparing that art where the artists splatter paint all over the canvas with that minimalist crap.
Both meaning less, but the first on seems to have taken more effort to make.
User avatar #148 to #147 - bronynexgen (01/17/2013) [-]
Sort of like painting an amazing surrealistic, Salvador Dali style painting, from what you see outside you window.
User avatar #150 to #148 - sketchysketchist (01/17/2013) [-]
Yeah, like that.
Kinda funny how people still decide to take non-repeated lyrics as a bonus to a song.
User avatar #151 to #150 - bronynexgen (01/17/2013) [-]
But then there are songs that take it too far with repetition. For example: most popular pop songs today.
User avatar #154 to #151 - sketchysketchist (01/17/2013) [-]
We live in a generation that doesn't pay attention to the lyrics and only listens to it's sounds.
That's why no one noticed Hey ya was about breaking up and why everyone thought turning japanese was about jacking off.
I guess the music industry decided to give up with the feelings and focus on making music that can easily be Dj'd and played at clubs.
User avatar #198 to #154 - bronynexgen (01/17/2013) [-]
Well **** , looks like I was wrong. Wow, that's a lot of meaning. Way to go music analysts, now I'm going to be sad whenever I listen to this song.
