The problem is that there will always be people who want to cause suffering. If it is a time of peace, they spread war and fear. If the people have money, they will take it just so the people do not. If the people are healthy, then they want to spread sickness. It's just the way it is.

And so we try to change it, no matter how futile it may seem. Or, if we give up the good fight, then what hope do we breed of becoming any better?

Balance... That is want we have, and what we need to keep thriving. Tipping that balance in either groups favor will have disastrous results. If 'they win' the world falls into chaos and humans destroy themselves. If 'we win' society will stagnate and life would be pointless.

To have a surplus of good doesn't mean pointless, my friend. It can seem that way, though. We have a dream as a people to be better than our base nature whether we realize it or not. It is what we, in our higher cognition, strive for. That has been the unreachable dream for so long, though, that it is unfathomable to have another...

But we push on in pursuit of a better tomorrow.
