we have this kid in my class that wants to join the army but doesn't workout run or do pretty much anything to prepare himself for the army
Also the he thinks because he goes to a "program" he thinks he's over the police.
sorry if it seems irrelevant but ever time i see a kid say he's joining the army he doesn't do anything to prepare

In Canada you only need to be able to do 19 pushups, 19 situps, 7 minutes walking up steps, and a fairly simple grip test to get in the army. Its after you're in that you get in amazing shape.

But you're right about what you're saying. Most people can pass the entry physical without training but by the time bmq/bootcamp rolls around it would definitively help to be in shape. And thinking he's above the police means he's on his way to being one of the guys in the army who has a huge superiority complex. I remember when I was applying to the reserves I kept asking people about it tp get information and they were like "no man, don't even attempt it, its nothing like a video game it's really physically demanding, just find a part time job that wont make you hate your life. This life style isn't for everyone..". Sadly, at least where I live the military isn't one to breed humble people these days.
