To be fair, incarceration rates aren't just related to crime rates: they also have a lot to do with the prevalence and effectiveness of the police force, which is one of the things the US is good at.

I mean, the US is by no means the most crime-ridden country in the world. We're just really really good at catching criminals (sometimes too good).

Also, if pot were legalized, you'd probably see that number cut in half.

They way it works here is simpler. If a cop sees a black dude, he beats him up and arrests him.

also with prison systems being privatized and it being legal to have prisoners work for the profit of pretty big corporations with out regulation you could see why there are so many convictions. i hardly think it's because US cops are good at being cops considering they are sworn to protect and serve not imprison and enslave. did you know that in philadelphia the fine for skateboarding in places like love park is up to $2000 and 90 days in jail while the punishmenf for a first time dui is a maximum fine of $300 and 6 months probation. it's really not the major crimes because they aren't as common as say a guy going to jail for failure to pay child support or someone being arrested for drug possesion, getting no help with their addictions and being released to go through the system again. i'm not saying that all cops don't do there jobs or that they are all bad but more or less the problem is in the disproportion of the punishment to the crime and a lack of understanding or indifference.

That would be due to the fact that Asian countries stress the importance of memorizing things while most developed nations put emphasis on being able to do **** later with what you learned

They bought very advanced research from the Yugoslavian space program, as they were already capable of sending a man to the moon by the end of the 1950s.

Supposedly. I've seen that YouTube video, too. (Assuming you're getting this information from the documentary trailer of "Houston, We Have A Problem" by Slovenian director Ziga Virc). However the claims that the events of Yugoslavian prosperity and the President Kennedy planning a manned moon-trip are coincidental at best. And I have a hard time believing that the US developed so much from the diaries of Hermann Noordung, a man who died in 1929..

Eh, seventh ain't that bad. It's not exactly North Korea.

I love America, but our government needs to get its **** together. We've got this constitution that's one of the most brilliant creations the Enlightenment period ever produced (minus the whole "slavery" thing, of course), but our government's like "Lol **** that let's print more money so we can bomb more countries."
