seriously, i get that it's because of history and people might feel uncomfortable with a new standard, but even when the inventors of the system themselves think its outdated and throw it out, maybe it's time to rethink your standards

they teach you basics(of metric) in highschool science and honestly i much prefer it

No one thinks imperial is superior. The problem is, there are over 300 million to educate on the difference in the USA and billions of signs to convert. It's going, but it will take a few generations. Think about it, we're talking about the country so undereducated over 50% believe in creationism.

The majority got the system when it started and could easily change. US was all the way on the other side of the ocean with a growing population still learning imperial.
