He went to Steak n Shake with his wife every year for valentines day
since before he was married. This is his first year without a valentine
My grandma passed away seven years ago, but my almost 90 yearsold
grandpa still wants us to make sure we know the gift is from her tee.
While at Wendy' s I saw a man eating alone with framed pictures
around him. Later I found out that the pictures are of his wife
that passed away a few years age. -

My Grandfather, who was an ex-Soviet Sniper and suffered losing his leg in the Battle of Stalingrad, final words was, "Chin up boy, I'm just going to visit some old comrades...and my leg..." Then he laughed a bit before passing.

You want feels?

My grandpa's last word to us was "Why are you all crying? I am as happy as I can be. Smile everyone."

I'm not sure what my gandpa's last words were. My brother couldn't take being in the hospital room, so I took him to a kids reading area while my parents and aunts and uncles stayed with him. He had cancer, and went very peacefully for how quickly his condition worsened.

pic is how I feel right now

Really? That's a coincidence. When my dad died, his last words were "euuuuueagaeeh! EEEH!" before urinating and going limp. Gotta learn to joke about this **** , you know. I'd be broken if I didn't.

The last time I seen my dad alive was when he was in the hospital.

I remember how we were all called in one by one to see him, and as the oldest, I was the first one to go in and see him, but he just looked at me with his withered eyes and asked me "Where's my favourite one...".

I could barely hear him as his lungs just underwent surgery, so I walked in closer to him, held his hands, and asked him gently to repeat himself just to make sure I heard him correctly. He shook off my hands, and told me to "Bring in the youngest... I want to see the youngest..."

After 5 ****** years of beating me, and FIVE ****** YEARS of trying to impress him, you would assume I would at least deserve a ****** "I love you" BEFORE HE ****** DIED, BUT NO, IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT THE ****** YOUNGEST

WHY THE **** WOULDN'T HE LOVE ME?

Both my dad and grandad died by not eating, since they both have been diagnosed with cancer, and it's the easiest way out since getting help to it is illegal here. My dad died a few days after getting an apartment, getting it furnished, and sitting in his chair like a happy man with a bed and everything prepared for me. He had reached his dream right before it. My granddad died with his family around him.
I wish your's could at least have died with family around him, peacefully, knowing who they were..

**** happens. The only thing you can do is to try and get over it. And since my grandad would have his legs amputated and be unable to do more, I'm glad he died like that without pain. He's a stubborn man, he wouldnt could live like that. Shame bout my dad tho. He was a great one at that. But i have my mom, and she's the best ******* mom ever, and due to her hard work, we're all doing well with education and economy

I have a similar story.

My Grandmother took care of all of us.
I mean all of us.
My parents, my uncles, my cousins, our family friends.

On her deathbed, we all stood around her, sobbing of course.
The heartbreak came when she spoke to each and every one of us, one by one,
making sure we were all doing well in our lives so her work was done... And she could finally rest.

(To my mom/dad): Louise... keep Raymond out of trouble... Be sure to take that vacation soon.
(To my uncle): Gerald... How is business? Are you financially stable? that's good to hear...
(To my cousin): Good luck with job hunting, Shawn... I know I'd be eager to hire you.

and many more.

Her final words before passing will never escape my memory:
"I'm glad you're all settled. I think I'll rest now... I'm so tired..."

I don't hope to find true love.

I do hope to one day find myself in a relationship these people have shared.
Those who have devoted themselves so much to each other and made it grow over time to the point where they still carry their image with them and honor days that were special to them.
Even when the person they shared them with is long gone.

My grandma had alzheimer, nobody in my family really botored about her anymore but I did, I visited her almost everyday after school because she was sad most of the time because she didn't like the old people's home. I always showed her old family pictures, I even figured out who they all are just to tell her about them. She always was very happy when she saw me and said I was her only friend, I also was the only person she could remember easily. She told me a lot of nice things and awesome stories. Two months later she got very ill, it lasted for about 12 days and I still visited her everyday but all she did was sleeping but I always set next to her for about half an hour. In one of the days she was sick she woke up and saw me and was very happy to see me and she wouldn't let go of my hand. I miss her.

My grandfather had a seizure shortly before I graduated high school and lost most of the use in his left leg. Doctors then found out the seizure was brought on by stage 4 lung/brain cancer.

After I graduated I moved in with my grandparents to help my grandfather move around the house, take him to appointments etc.

He slowly kept getting worse until we had to put him in a 24 hour care facility.

He died that Thanksgiving day right after we finished dinner.

back then people actually took the time to fix things and not let little argument get in between the true feelings they had for each other. And also, back then, nobody was whoring themselves in affairs and complicated arguments like today, i think if people took a little more time into making things right instead of trying to take half the other person's **** , we might live in a better place, with better people, better raised children and a more friendly society. Why do you think 50's movies looks so jolly ?
