So, can I test out of that class?

Is there an AP course for those of us who can backflip without a trampoline?

AP Class at a university?

Hell man, I don't know, im still in high school.

I'd fail. I've never been able to do any trick on a trampoline, even those ones where you go like 10 feet in the air.
User avatar #78 to #68 - srskate (01/01/2013) [-]
bro, you just have to lean backwards

If you don't psych yourself out, its amazingly easy. Its literally all a mental block.

I prefer to think I'm just absolute **** at anything physical.
User avatar #90 to #89 - srskate (01/02/2013) [-]
well then change that, a little bit of a work out isnt bad.

but no seriously, back flips on a trampoline are entirely mental, unless its a ****** trampoline.

To be fair, 300 had some pretty good speeches and many of the lines were based on actual Latin and Greek epics and histories written on the subject of the last stand.

mfw my university doesn't even require us to go to the lectures as long as we pass the tests. This is the easiest time of my school going experience so far.

Same here in Germany. But they do it on purpose, they aren't forcing anyone to show up. If you want to learn something, you'll show up, and get good grades. If you don't show up, you'll **** up the exams and after 3 tries, you'll never get to study the subject again.

On the other hand, if your college experience is as mindlessly difficult and tedious as high school was, then you'll probably leave campus with the word "Doctor" affixed to your name.

Pfft, it's Media, it was just analysing stuff. Anyone can look at a movie and say "That's the main character, you can tell because he's in it the most and the story focuses around him." I only failed because the exam paper was focusing on adverts in magazines and I don't read magazines.
User avatar #3 - patgood (12/31/2012) [-]
All of this except the last panel. My teachers at the uni don't do anything, some days they don't show at class at all, don't teach anything but they **** you over on exams.

Technically what I'm at now is the equivalent of college and I have to say most of it is true. You have no idea how many times I've heard a teacher say "Eh, I don't feel so well. Pretend we did something." and leave. Some people only show up for tests, cheat like hell and have good grades.
#49 - darkjustifier (01/01/2013) [-]
And then you go for a math class and none of that is true.

User avatar #61 to #49 - jalthelas (01/01/2013) [-]
My math instructor is awesome. He's laid back and easy-going, but he still teaches you everything and it's really easy to learn. My favorite line he uses a lot is 'Don't even pay attention to this part. **** that!'
User avatar #62 to #61 - darkjustifier (01/01/2013) [-]
Lucky ours writes faster than I can take notes and every single thing he writes is on each test, the final exam is going to kill me if I'm not careful.
User avatar #63 to #62 - jalthelas (01/01/2013) [-]
Ours writes 'Roadmap to Success' quotes on the board every day, teaches a new formula or theorem in detail, assigns homework, and goes through a few problems on the homework during the lecture. And he lets us out early a lot and gives us days off haha
User avatar #64 to #63 - darkjustifier (01/01/2013) [-]
I feel like you're showing off now.~ahue
User avatar #66 to #64 - jalthelas (01/01/2013) [-]
I'm just pointing out that some people aren't as lucky as others, or just don't click with their instructor.
User avatar #72 to #66 - darkjustifier (01/01/2013) [-]
He honestly does not pick favorites, the few kids that tried to win his favor are already gone anyways but he treats everyone with equal disdain, This has been a lovely chat but business awaits me ttyl
#55 to #49 - anon (01/01/2013) [-]
Nah it is still pretty true unless you didn't take any math in high school cause you slacked off and are learning calculus for the first time in college or something, happened to a few friends of mine.
User avatar #57 to #55 - darkjustifier (01/01/2013) [-]
Well.....I guess I shouldn't have waited for college to try hard than.
#65 - valolcat (01/01/2013) [-]
Is this true?? it makes me wish I had actually gone to college
#71 to #65 - anon (01/01/2013) [-]
It depends largely on the college you go to. This has been the case for me with the majority of my classes. People sit in class eating mcdonalds while playing minecraft and scribbling notes down and the teacher really doesn't care. =D
User avatar #75 to #65 - larfang (01/01/2013) [-]
In my experience so far, it really is true. I can't say its true for all colleges but the classes I have taken have all been chill and the professors are kick ass.
User avatar #42 - ronyx (01/01/2013) [-]
If it's stuff you really need to learn for your career then I think you'll rather find another class.
User avatar #1 - quitethedelicacy (12/31/2012) [-]
Pretty much sounds like my school.

Half of my classes get cancelled because teachers don't feel like teaching, i get days off for no reason (like getting the day off for 12/21/12), they tell you exactly what to learn and you pass even if you have bad grades. They simply don't give an eff.

Depends on what you study.

I'm studying Health Informatics and because there are so many people and Informatics is the youngest department at the University and therefore has the lowest resources of all departments they make a bunch of KO-tests in nearly each course of the first 2 semesters (This semester there were 900 beginners and in each course about 300 places +-50 for them and people which didn't pass it so far)

We also have to do "homework" in a couple of courses and in each course about 3 tests.

They also introduced a so called STEOP (Study entry and orientation phase) where you have to pass a couple of courses to get into courses of the third semester or higher.

In Informatics it's 7 courses where you have a KO-Test after a month.
My buddy studies city and regional planning and has 2 courses STEOP where one is just a introduction in the first week where he had to write an 200 word essay and the other one has one test at the end of the semester.
