That will ruin your laptop faster than anything. The hard drive is NOT meant to be on its side like that; it'll scratch it and then brick it. It's probably a fake picture; fake meaning that the guy rectified it immediately after the picture was done.

Not quite, depends mostly if it's an ssd or an hd, by the laptop size i would say its an ssd and it would have no problems if it's vertical or horizontal

This laptop does not look new, and laptops with ssd's are usually new ultrabooks nowadays. Hard disk drives can operate at all angles. They mess up if the HDD is shocked in some way, like dropping it.
