I'm in Britain and everyone here refuses to convert T_T

"How tall are you?"
"I'm about 180cm"
"UWOTM8?"

Yeah, I once asked my British friend how much he weighed, "About 14 stone, give or take." What the ****? Stones? That must literally date back to caveman times.

Yeah, it's part of the imperial system.
I have no ******* clue why America only uses lbs, really, it's a mystery.

14lbs to a stone.

Yeah, I don't have a scale, but I can judge the amount of water that a container holds to the decimal. Why I'm not further in life, Idunno.

Simple conversion sure

But how in the **** am I supposed to measure out exactly .456 liters of water?

I don't go around carrying a goddamn graduated cylinder or volumetric flask everywhere I go.

not trying to be all 'MERICAH! in this thread but we haven't moved to the metric system and still use the english system.

and since it's pretty damn hard to change the minds of 300+ million people and their cars and all the grocery stores and all the regulations based on weights and measurements, and gas stations.... you get the idea

i dare say the cars won't notice if you fill them with liters or gallons, just as long as the grand total volume is the same. also, if people won't change their set of mind about something as simple and petty as measurements, then i'd say we are all, as a race, ******.
