While I agree the Bible is a bunch of baloney as far as historical accuracy is concerned, it's still a fairly good read. Some of the greatest stories ever told are in the Bible, particularly the Old Testament, and a good understanding of Biblical mythology is pivotal in understanding many English metaphors and allegories, and I'm sure that's the case in other languages. Another thing is to some of Shakespeare's references, which are made side by side to the Greek references.
