That's... That's not funny at all. That's just an average insult, anyone can do those.

Personally, I don't find him funny, the mark of a true comedian is when they can make people laugh without offending anyone. Frankie Boyle seeks to offend as many people as possible with his jokes, anyone can do that, we can all call people cunts and insult the living **** out of them, he just does it with an audience so its classed as funny. No disrespect to him or his fans, I just don't find him particularly entertaining.

They can't make offensive jokes like he can.

While I agree that a comedian who can make people laugh without offending people is great, I still do like the offensive stuff
User avatar #30 to #7 - swampert (12/20/2012) [-]
So George Carlin isn't a true comedian? On a different note gotta agree about this guy, don't find him very funny

In my opinion the mark of a true comedian is to be able to say whatever you like, insult if you will, but to get the tone right. For example, my dad used to run a pub. He used to make the customers laugh by taking the piss out of them, but it was always done in just the right way. When my dad left, another bloke took it over and tried to do the same thing but ended up pissing off half of the regulars.

name three true comedians then

honestly I'm not trying to be a dick or anything I'm genuinely curious about who you think is funny without making fun of other people directly, groups other people are in, a group they belong to, or themselves
User avatar #39 to #33 - MrTurdTastic (12/20/2012) [-]
Michael Macintyre, Rhod Gilbert, Milton Jones. In my opinion, all are great comedians.

Meh, I see comedians as someone who makes me laugh, I don't care if they've made a million other people laugh, if they make me laugh then to me they are a comedian.
Frankie Boyle's sense of humour and jokes are based on the fact that he doesn't see the line between offensive comedy and general comedy, I like people who tend to step out of the communities comfort zone and say something funny but potentially controversial.
But yeah, I see where you are coming from dude.

I don't mean to draw away from the seriousness of your comment, but I thought you said "The mark of a true canadian" and I was like "Wait, what the **** does being a true canadian have to do with comedy? lol"

Pahaha xD

Really? The mark of a true comedian is being able to be funny without offending anyone?

Then there are no true comedians. You cannot name a single joke that has ever been made that absolutely NO ONE is offended by. Frankie Boyle makes jokes which a lot of people get offended by, but most of it (in some cases it's just plain cruelty), it's simply reality dressed up in a funny costume. If a man who tells you how reality functions plain and simple is ''aiming to offend as many people as possible'', then you need a reality check.
What's the mark of a true comedian, someone who sells their soul to make people laugh whilst hiding everything they want to say, or an iconoclast who is brutally honest but ALSO funny.

What do you want, a lying clown, or a barefaced humourist?

Not sure if there's one where they argue in person, but this is the joke Frankie made:

And this is Katie Price's reaction:

I think he's funny, but sometimes he can go a bit far

Yes Frankie is a dark horse of comedy but that's why I like him I saw him live in Aberdeen and I was in stitches and if you think he is like that in person when the sun news paper accused him of being racist he sued and won and all the proceeds went to charity, his humor does not reflect his views and is actually a strong campaigner against racism etc.

"I thought it was sad that they had that pop concert to commemerate Diana [Princess of Wales]. I mean, she didn't have much to do with pop music, did she? They should've done something that celebrated what was really great about here life; by staging a gang-bang in a minefield."
