Not really.. George lucas had some creative touch to it, but the majority of it was not his work. He's also responsible for most of the worst stuff in Star was. For example, Ewoks were meant to be wookies fighting the empire, but George Lucas thought Ewoks would sell more plushies and changed it.

Not exactly. Pretty much most of what made Star Wars popular was not Lucas's doing. For example, he originally wanted C-3PO's personality to be like what he ended up getting away with Watta the slave driver.

If he had true creative control, we would have seen what we saw in episodes 1-3 for six movies. Also Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

He thumbed you down because you didnt understand his comment pointing out OP improperly used "Where" rather than "were", while you tried correcting him saying "we're". OP used the wrong word, thegreekfish pointed it out, and you got confused, and made the wrong comment.

Yeah, sometimes I can't help but feel that hating on them is just the 'in' thing to do. People need to recognize that these movies all take lots of hard work and are fairly consistent given the frame they're supposed to work with. I know the whole issue with what defines a 'true fan' is always a debate that leads to nowhere, but I don't understand how someone who refers to themselves as such can bash George Lucas with very terrible insults.
Even if you prefer the sequels, that doesn't mean you have to hate on the prequels for being new or different. I love the original trilogy but I don't know if they are worth the pedestal that people want to place them on.
I'm a big fan of the expanded universe as well. It'd be so limiting just to focus on the first 3 movies which take place in a 4 year time period on only a couple of different planets.
