So what OP is saying is he/ she hates tattoos since you know having ink anywhere makes you easy or a fag?

#8 to #7 - gamesboard (12/16/2012) [-]
Except the shoulder, which is true imo. Most tattoos are ******* ridiculous, but shoulder/upper arm tattoos look pretty decent most of the time
#9 to #8 - argonianmaidohonor (12/16/2012) [-]
I think ink is great. After all it is your own body so why not do what you want without people judging you in such a shallow way. Having a tattoo on your lower back doesn't always mean you are easy and having one anywhere else doesn't make you a fag. Maybe people just like ink? I can honestly say here that judging someone for the tattoo location is shallow.

ahhhh I read this as "only a mormon"

I think tattoos are pretty cool, and the upper arms are my favorite. But OP is right about face and hand mostly. Stomach ones will probably be ridiculed, and lower back is kinda ridiculous, but other than that, they are, usually, cool
User avatar #33 to #9 - doombunni (12/16/2012) [-]
My best friend put a memorial tattoo on her lower back to hide it from her Dad, and it still looks awesome

what OP is saying is "hey guys, look at this funny picture I found"

So basically according to whoever made this you're a douche bag or an idiot if you get a tattoo anywhere but your shoulder... Which is ironically the most typical place for a douchey tattoo. Why do i feel like the person who made this had a shoulder tattoo?

Er, the red zone on the arm isn't true....I work at a grocery store and a lot of my coworkers have to wear long sleeves because of those tattoos.
User avatar #23 - demandsgayversion (12/16/2012) [-]
I'd put forearms in the green zone, society isn't that closed minded anymore.
User avatar #122 - critality (12/17/2012) [-]
how are forearm tattoos so horrible?
User avatar #128 to #122 - ZenMacros (12/17/2012) [-]
They're easily visible.
User avatar #130 to #128 - critality (12/17/2012) [-]
I didn't know you're supposed to hide tattoos, I've never gotten a negative comment from anyone about mine
User avatar #165 to #130 - ZenMacros (12/17/2012) [-]
Not that it's bad, but you're not likely to get a job if your potential employer(s) can see your tattoos.
User avatar #177 to #165 - RedSarge (12/17/2012) [-]
depends. Some employers have said that tattoos HELP get jobs in certain industries.
#158 to #130 - anon (12/17/2012) [-]
I heard to join the Marines if you have a tattoo there and its larger then your palms, you do not qualify.
Some business establishments require that no tattoo(often excessive jewelry as well) not be shown at all, so you'd not get the job or have to wear long sleeves your whole career.
User avatar #166 to #122 - YourLordAndMaster (12/17/2012) [-]
In Dunnes Stores you have to cover all tattoos. I know a guy that works there has a tattoo on his forearm and he has to keep his uniform top on at all times so the sleeves cover the tattoo even though the store is roasting.

I'm proud of my heritage, so I'm getting my whole body (excluding hands, head/neck, and feet) in a celtic fashion. First the Tree Of Life on my back and from it's branches and roots, patterns describing major events in my life around my body.
User avatar #96 to #91 - maskedhippo (12/17/2012) [-]
It's not worth it.
User avatar #100 to #96 - JediismUser (12/17/2012) [-]
I've accepted that I only have one time to be on this earth, so I don't care what goes on my body as long as it means something to me. Plus I have no religion so it's not like I'll be banned to being buried where I want to be.
User avatar #102 to #100 - maskedhippo (12/17/2012) [-]
well, yeah, but we're talking a (almost) full body tattoo here. That's going to stay with you for he rest of your life. Who knows how you'll feel about it in 5 years?
User avatar #116 to #102 - critality (12/17/2012) [-]
"Man, i still look so ******* cool"
User avatar #125 to #102 - JediismUser (12/17/2012) [-]
I agree with critality, though it's not only that. I know that once it's on me, it's going to be hell on the payments, and the pain to to get it out of my body. So knowing that I got these tattoo's is like me telling myself, I committed to this, I'm never backing down from it.
User avatar #126 to #125 - defeats (12/17/2012) [-]
Where are you from?
User avatar #203 to #126 - JediismUser (12/17/2012) [-]
My bloodline comes from Ireland, but as of right now I live in Washington, U.S.A. Though I move around a lot.
User avatar #206 to #203 - defeats (12/17/2012) [-]
I see, I'm Scottish, but my Grandparents one one side are Irish and on the other side from the Highlands.
I don't consider myself at all Irish, I'm Scottish, despite Irish blood and having the last name Doyle.

But personally, Irish-American people are the most annoying people in the world.
I don't mean any offence to you, but that's just how it is.

As long as you're just being prideful of your heritage and not prancing around saying "Look at me, I'm Irish!" then you won't have any issues.
But honestly, and I mean this in an actual supportive way. If you ever go to Ireland, or you meet Irish people, don't say "Hey I'm Irish!" they'll probably laugh at you.

This is because, in order for a person so be Irish, they have to have been born in Ireland.

I'm not saying this to annoy you, to be a prick, or to sound superior, I'm just saying make sure that your reason for doing something so displaying is good.
User avatar #210 to #206 - JediismUser (12/17/2012) [-]
No no, I completely understand. I don't go around doing that either, hahah. No I too find people who do that, on a culture, is annoying. I just find my heritage very fascinating, especially when it comes to the art, it just captures the eye. I have a bit of red in my hair, if I remember right I'm 1/2 if not 3/4's Irish. I do plan to live there one day though, it's a very beautiful place. I'm also curious of the clan I belong to also, I'd like to meet the others.

This is the tattoo i'm getting once i earn the money. On my left shoulder. And if I still love it in the years I'll add on with the Magic lines you get from Fable. I was a big Magic user so adding those and stopping at my elbow would be awesome.
User avatar #63 to #55 - potatogrif (12/16/2012) [-]
You can get luminous ink for tattoos but it costs an awful lot more than regular ink.
User avatar #65 to #55 - othagovna (12/16/2012) [-]
That would indeed be pretty awesome.

Have you put any thought into having the magic lines done in ink that produces any special visual effects, such as glowing under black light or glowing in the dark (if that's even possible for tattoos)?
User avatar #156 to #65 - cactusupthebutt (12/17/2012) [-]
I was thinking of the black light ink. Which makes the most sense.

Just make sure to remove that water mark before you do, it would ruin the tatto.

I've been saving for months to get a tat for my friend that died 4 months ago the idea I have is it's basically going to be a memorial wall where across the top of my back it's going to say In Memoriam and below that I'm going to add the name of everybody close to me that dies her name will be the first

face and head tattoos are a little much. and the fact that back tattoos are considered "faggy" pisses me off. i have my fair share of ink and ive seen some of the most amazing art on peoples back and forearms. whoever made this doesnt know what they are talking about. sorry for sounding preachy.
User avatar #56 - thisotherdude (12/16/2012) [-]
Apparently I'm one of the only people on FJ who doesn't already have a tattoo and isn't planning on getting a tattoo...

Feels weird being the minority.

Pic related, it's Sleeping Dogs.
