Nazgul's are cooler
User avatar #2 to #1 - reican (12/14/2012) [-]
But even Nazgüls have happy and sad memories from before they got corrupted by the rings. So they would be ****** since they need Drache to fly.
User avatar #3 to #2 - reican (12/14/2012) [-]
Also Sauron need their souls to be IN the bodies to have full control over their minds. if the souls disappear, Nazguls will be empty husks which would die easier.
User avatar #7 to #3 - KayRed (12/15/2012) [-]
How does the status of their souls make them less cool?
User avatar #10 to #7 - CrashingSea (12/15/2012) [-]
Oh my God!!! People that know that the Nazgul are the ring wraiths and not the ******* dragons!?!? I'm dreaming!!!!
#24 to #10 - anon (12/15/2012) [-]
Except for that the beasts the Nazgul ride on are no dragons ...
User avatar #11 to #10 - KayRed (12/15/2012) [-]
Dude, you're talking to a walking Star Wars encyclopedia who has just recently watched the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy back to back..EXTENDED EDITIONS! I think I'd know something as simple as the difference between Nazgul's and Fell Beast. (The witch king did really **** things up when he said "Nazgul and his prey").
User avatar #12 to #11 - CrashingSea (12/15/2012) [-]
You have no idea how many times and how many people I've talked to that argued with me on that fact... and whenever he said that I never interpreted it as the dragon, I always knew he was talking about himself.
User avatar #13 to #12 - KayRed (12/15/2012) [-]
Even though it may not be obvious, but either Gandalf or Aragorn even calls them Nazgul in Fellowship, long before they get the (for lack of a better word) dragons.
User avatar #14 to #13 - CrashingSea (12/15/2012) [-]
It's Aragorn, I believe, when he's telling the Hobbits about them the first time they meet.
User avatar #43 to #14 - KayRed (12/15/2012) [-]
You know, I have to go back and actually read those books, I'm really into reading fantasy, but I've only read the Hobbit and Return of the king, with Tolkien's work being the father of modern fantasy, I really have to read them (especially if I'm gonna start writing).
User avatar #45 to #43 - CrashingSea (12/15/2012) [-]
They're really good, of course, and surprisingly, the movies are extremely close to the book, word for word in many parts actually.

Isn't there supposed to be another whole battle before helms deep? And I remember a ranger character other than Aragorn.
User avatar #47 to #46 - CrashingSea (12/15/2012) [-]
I think other ranger characters are mentioned but not necessarily very pertinent to the story so mentioning of said character is only in passing, As for another battle before helms deep... eh... It's too foggy for me to really be sure but I don't think so...
User avatar #48 to #47 - KayRed (12/16/2012) [-]
I remember in return of the king a ranger was with them when the trio went to meet the oathbreakers.
User avatar #49 to #48 - CrashingSea (12/16/2012) [-]
He was present but still not pertinent.
User avatar #29 to #10 - TarnRazor (12/15/2012) [-]
Is this like a big issue? It's pretty obvious.
User avatar #44 to #29 - CrashingSea (12/15/2012) [-]
You'd be surprised at how many people I've had to convince and show in the books, word for word to tell them that the Nazgul were the wraiths, but I call them dragons for lack of a better word. In the books they're referred to as "fell beasts" and or some combination of carrion, birds, and beasts.

But since the cat takes pleasure in suffering of others then misfortune makes her happy. That'd mean there's still something the dementor could suck out
#30 - thebritishguy (12/15/2012) [-]
the dementors were literal metaphors for depression because J.K had it and ****

Dementors don't eat happiness, they hate happiness and hope. They feed off misery. That's how Sirius escaped Azkaban, the picture of Harry and Peter gave him a smidgen of hope that he could hold onto until he gained the strength. They also eat souls.
#22 to #9 - anon (12/15/2012) [-]
How about you read the books again? Or are you one of those who only watches the movies and thinks that he knows everything?

They DO feed on happiness. They absorb happiness and leave people with only their worst feelings and memories, which is what they don't absorb. Otherwise everyone would be happy. Can't you see that your logic doesn't make sense?

About Sirius, it was the same. Quote: "I think the only reason I never lost my mind is that I knew I was innocent. That wasn't a happy thought, so the dementors couldn't suck it out of me.” It's happiness, and eventually the soul, what Dementors eat.

I love grumpy cat, but I hate the ones where he smiles when bad things happen. It should always be frown, and when bad things happen he should just say good or glad to help
