I went to a really old western cemetery on a school field trip and my friend found one that had his exact name. Not only that, but the guy had died exactly 100 years before my friend was born.

When I first read the line "killed three British soldiers," I thought he was a Nazi until I read the date.

I thought the whole reason that the bayonets at the time were in a triangular pyramid was that there wasn't a way to seal or heal a triangular wound, thus ensuring death. Do you know how he came to recover from his wounds? Or was he just not stabbed right?
User avatar #35 to #33 - perronfan (12/14/2012) [-]
Well i read the book that for the life of me i can not think of the name, this is driving me insane, but im fairly certain he was stabbed somewhere near the soldier, i bet you could do a goole search and fidn out mroe about his wounds, ill include a link, but its the same thing as a bullet wound, if you can stop the bleading and keep it clean adn no vital organs are hit it will eventually heal, and also, they can sue up the wound if its superficial...this is a very bad response wish i could remember the book, and i believe he was bed ridden and it took him 6 months to a year to recover

No, that was very helpful, and thank you. Shoulder would make sense because it would avoid puncturing any organs.

the book is called minutemen, i think, and its about the history about them from the foudning of the colonies and gives a great insight on what actually happened...highly recommend if you can find it.

I'll see what I can do. I've always been a little of a history nerd, so I'll likely find a copy.
Thanks again.
