I would rather die than let some in-humane act like this happen to my sweet puppies.

I run a dog boarding kennel and train at home... those are not pit bulls. I see a black lab and a few mutts. -_- Idiots should hire someone who knows about a different breeds. Number one mix up in my area is the Cane corso (or italian mastiff). Not a pit...

Yeah, they're taking dogs with any pitbull in them at all. They did the same in Colorado and killed thousands.

Wow that sucks! I live back east Canada and luckily nothing that bad up here. There is a ban on buying and breeding pit bulls in Ontario. Your dog can be seized and you can be fined. In New Brunswick that law is being passed soon. Biggest problem here is the activists. They want you to start fixing your puppies at 6 weeks before you sell em to stop breeding. Good part is not dogs are dying from the great debate. I feel so bad for all the owners down there. My heart goes out to Innocent.

They do have the highest bite rate, and chance of bite rate but that is no reason to round them up. most places have a one bite rule for a reason. In short, sad face.

now where exactly does that statistic come from because i was under the impression that according to the aggression test, pit bull scored lower than any other breed.
even if they were used in dog fighting, they still wouldn't be likely to bite people because in the world of dog fighting, if your dog bites a person, they kill it.
so according to what research are they the most likely to bite?

There are 2 main arguments to the pitt defense side. One is amount of dogs, and the other is blaming the owners. The first can be addressed simply by looking up registered breed statistics. The second can be negated by pointing out that bad owners exist, but they are spread out across the breeds equally. Pitt bulls would not magically have a ridiculously higher amount o bad owners versus other breeds, even figuring in dog fighting owners. I am not saying that Pitts are a bad dog, my neighbor owns one and it is a nice friendly dog. But the statistics themselves do not lie. Pitt supporters like to say that statistics are wrong, and are lies. Why? What benefit does a company or organization get out of blaming pitts and making them look universally guilty? The fact is they just plain have a higher chance to cause injury. It sucks but its a fact. I have nothing against the breed and I am sure there are some statistics on othr sites that say pitts are less likely to attack. Thats great, but why take the risk? Any breed can cause damage but some do it more.
