Anime vs Real life 6. Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young In a world of magnets and miracles Our thoughts strayed constantly and without

Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begun

Along the long road and on down to the causeway
Do they still MEET there by the cut

There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground
To a life consumed by slow decay

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
With friends surrounded
The nights of wonder

Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide

At a higher altitude with flag unfurled
We reached the dizzy heights OF that dreamed of world

****

Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
There's a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
Though down this road we've been so many times

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowing
The endless river

Forever and ever

Animating that must've been like digging a mine with a tooth pick.

Actually I just pinpointed why I like the anime scenery more than the real one.

THe anime one looks cleaner because there is less ******* visual contamination AKA publicity, anouncements, promotion boards, etc

Actually it's more to do with the Animé frames being far less cluttered. Yes, they are cleaner but what is more important though is that there are definite differences between the pictures and the differences are there because the background-artists know how to compose a frame. Those places are actually far from identical. They only look the same at first glance.

The 2nd picture (The Lock) is aided by the lighting but the bar itself is missing the two things that hold it to the fence and one of the fans behind it has been removed. You are right about it being cleaner.

The bikes are actually shot from a different angle, more appealing colours are used and a lot of rough edges were smoothed.

The stairs are pretty similar but the use of lighting and shading and the change of certain colours again make it more appealing.

The trees by the bridge are much more vivid and there are far more leaves on them. The bridge itself is coated in moss and the rocks below are shaped differently.

The road below that again shows a change in colours but also again is seen a change in foliage. The fence is actually overgrowing with plants in the Animé one and there are white trees in with the green.

In general the streets also seem to be slightly narrower and the angles that the roads lead off on also seem far more visually comforting. So the reason that Animé looks as nice as it does is that, unlike real life, the people who made it care about how good it looks.

Funny, thought provoking (in some cases), great. And look up a chronological episode guide, because the creators are assholes and purposely made the episodes out of order.

They made the episodes out of chronological order because it makes more cinematic sense to do so. Melancholy part 6 makes a far better finale than Someday in the Rain.
Ends on a stronger note.

There are three orders to it. Haruhi's order, Kyon's order, and DVD order.

Kyon's is broadcast order, Haruhi is chronological, and DVD is self explanatory
