Turk here and I'm not offended.

I can see why many Germans hate the turkish folks, especially since some of them really misbehave in the worst manner possible.

However, I'm convinced that most of this hatred is based on the media; just think of it:
If a German/Austrian/Polish guy kills his family, it's a family tragedy, but as soon as someone who looks or whose name sounds the slightest turkish, it's immediately done to restore the family honor, no matter the real motif.

Again, don't get me wrong, I'm pretty sure there are many Turkish in Germany who don't even think about integrating, but I'd be glad if the part of the Germans that over - simplifies anyone would consider that there are actually some Turkish people in Germany who are not like that at all and who are willing to work and study for their money.

Just sayin.

Not every Turk is bad, stop trivializing, bla bla bla

Dane here.

I can somehow see your view on how the media can somehow mislead the general public, but there's more to it then that.

The cultural and religious differences have created large cultural gaps, no offence meant by this, but the western are more "gracious" when it comes to helping the poor and those in need, where in the Islamic world, you have to claw your way through the world.

And people take that behavior with them to the Western culture, where that ****, ain't gonna fly.

Also such as simple behavior when you're "mad." I don't know if Turks also do this, but when 2 parties are mad at each other. People tend to yell, scream and other varies violent behavior, to convince the other party that they're right. where in my country, we have have a saying. "Big dogs don't bark." You don't do that unless it's some serious ****, like trespassing by Jehovah witness.

Again, no offense meant.

It's these kind of reasons, why there's so much tension between our 2 cultures.

That's ironic, because in America it's exactly the opposite. If a negro, for example, massacres a White person/family with racial motivations or not, it's almost always kept silent. But if a White person does the same, it's national news. The Trayvon Martin incident and the truck incident from the late 1990's come to mind.

I don't know how the German media functions, but I doubt they have any right-wing twist giving their current government (they're proposing the outlawing of a right-wing party, so much for democracy, eh?). They probably work to deceive native Germans just as they do to us Americans. But I'd need confirmation from an actual German to say whether or not you are wrong.

German here. They try to outlaw the NPD, because it's an criminal and violent national-socialist party. Our leading Party is slightly right-winged itself...
Most turks (>90%) are living a normal live here, it's only fascists and idiots who claim that they exploit our country.
sorry for bad english

Because when a religious nut kills a family member because of "muh honour" it is honour killing. If a German/Austrian/Polish person kills a family member it's is because they are mentaly unstable. I'm not really sure what your point it.

The point is the following:

Not every Turkish, who murders, is a religious nut.
