The law 101. Exact law is not exact, people buy the mini. Due to new laws, Colt lighters had to put this band on them to prevent little kids from lighting them

Exact law is not exact, people buy the mini

Due to new laws, Colt lighters had to put
this ******** band on them to prevent little
kids from lighting them up
Around the same time Colt released the
mini" version, which fits a kids hand
perfectly
They have no ******* band :D

You get stronger thumbs by using it.

I've never had trouble with it, but it's irritating. It kind of rubs my thumb the wrong way.

"Kids can't use them" they said.

"It's a lot safer" they said.
User avatar #70 - Hayzer (12/09/2012) [-]
Why does that make you happy?
#74 - shiftyscent (12/09/2012) [-]
I honestly didn't know that the band was there for safety reasons, since I've never seen anyone (Even children) with proper hand coordination fail to light a lighter with this band.

I think I'm missing something. Is that band different than every other one that's on lighters? I though all lighters had those.

Or get a Zippo. Paid 30 dollars for mine and I've had it for 7 years.

$30 for a zippo? Was it one of them special ones or the regular?

This brings me back to my smoking days

I used to remove those so easily... Damn

I used to also burn my hands like... all the time on lighters...

Holy **** I was stupid
User avatar #20 - tacogrenade (12/09/2012) [-]
Just use a knife to pop the band off... its not hard to do.
#31 to #20 - anon (12/09/2012) [-]
never do that on a Bic, the band is there to keep you from pushing too down too hard on the flint. the flint will wear down before the fluid is used up
#40 to #31 - erectnipples (12/09/2012) [-]
Bic's are ******* a dollar, two at most. They're cheap and you lose most of them before the lighter's even used up completely. So why bother trying to save it?

ARE you a child?
User avatar #32 - jalthelas (12/09/2012) [-]
My idiot brother and his friends burn their arms with lighters.

They tried making smiley face scars with the burns.

What the **** is wrong with some people.

**CrazyPsycho rolled a random image posted in comment #1926181 at MLP Brony Board ** Once when i was little i tried burning a dog tag into my skin.. the outline worked but not the name and other information on it.. going to the swimming pool is awkward most days. probably because it seems to be the only thing on me that really makes someone go "da fuq?" ivemadeaterriblemistake.jpg

Don't really get what that band is supposed to do...
#73 to #66 - kainhall (12/09/2012) [-]
you have to press down a bit harder....hard enough that a 4 year old ont be able to press/figure it out, thus preventing said 4 year old from lighting the curtains on fire.

i think if you cnat watch your kids well enough to prevent them from messing with lighters your house should burn down. my 3 year old half brother was shown a firearm recently, and now when he sees one he backs the **** up and tells me. insted of wonder, he is scared. i remember by mom lighting a match and droping in hte box of matches...and the fire ball. never touched a match again!
User avatar #75 to #73 - pandation ONLINE (12/09/2012) [-]
Gotcha. Shock therapy at a young age works, I agree. Show them how dangerous something can be through a controlled experience.
#64 - flobberbuckett (12/09/2012) [-]
Their actually quite easy to get off with a fork.
#69 - anon (12/09/2012) [-]
i know i always find something to pry the band off... it jsut makes it ******* easyer. especally when said lighter is being used by a bunch of stoned people.
