Reported from Local 15 News facebook page, made me smile:
We all might occasionally cringe when we look at our receipts during our holiday shopping sprees, but one NFL player this year is saying the bigger the better! Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson has an annual ritual in which he funds 12 children selected by Child Protective services to go on a Toys "R" Us shopping spree. They range from ages 8 to 16, and have all suffered from some form of parental abuse. Each child got a shopping cart and 80 seconds to fill it up with as many toys as they can. Surprisingly, they not only picked up items for themselves, but every child chose out toys for siblings and relatives as well. Johnson's total bill- $19K! He's pleased, saying- "That's what the season is about. It's something I look forward to. The kids are happy, they get what they want for Christmas, and that's all that matters."
