It's actually not.

My sister's friend once leaned over to honk at a friend she saw in another car. My sister got pulled over and ticketed. The ticket was taken to court and overturned because honking is not a crime.

Yeah I think the law goes by state. In Ohio, you can't use your horn unless it's to get the attention of potentially dangerous drivers or literally to avoid an accident. Otherwise, you can be ticketed.

technically it's illegal to honk your horn unless it's to avoid a crash, at least in the state of Utah is.

"Hey person behind me on the highway: You don't need to ride my ass in the slow lane when I'm doing 10 over the speed limit. And those flashing lights on the top of your car look ridiculous."

I don't even have the guts to do this

After getting a ticket last week and an arrest last january, I can't risk anything

As soon as I see a cop, I slow down to the speed limit, like exactly to it, and set cruise control so that my car doesn't go over it.

I really just don't even wanna risk anything with cops

>be me
>having a really ****** day
>need to cheer myself up somehow
>not thinking too well
>call cop over to my lunch table and ask him to announce that it is my birthday
>he does it
> *******************
>me and my table ******** ourselves in laughter
>today. even ******** day.
>cop comes back to my table
>"we need to talk"
>"i looked up your name in the system yesterday, are you aware that your birthday is actually in July blahblah real severe talking-to etc"
>say sorry. start crying (not really, but you get the point)
>now i'm in trouble with the dean, facing possible detention or suspension, all because I told a simple lie to a cop that didn't hurt anyone whatsoever, or do any thing else bad. Also, it's not like I have a history of shenanigans like this; my record is nearly 100% clean I forget why I'm telling this story
User avatar #104 to #33 - Seventeen (12/06/2012) [-]
you kinda drifted away from the funny towards the end there huh, buddy? don't worry, i'm sure you won't get detention from the nasty teachers for telling the cop it was your birthday when it wasn't.
#127 to #33 - bulbakip (12/08/2012) [-]
sorry bro. its okay, just make sure you don't associate what the dean and that cop did with you with other cops/ deans... not that that makes much sense, but dun' worry. things will turn around :)

this is me hugging you
User avatar #64 to #33 - organicglory (12/06/2012) [-]
Thats because cops are scumbag pigs who make profit off of peoples' misery. i feel you brother.

I wonder if beeping your car horn counts as freedom of speech....
#52 to #43 - saladtongsofdeath (12/06/2012) [-]
its not unless you make it obvious why you are honking.... so just drive around with a sign on your car saying a statement (ie: i honk for gay rights) and its protected by the 1st amendment... 'murica

I slammed my brakes on because a cop was tailgating me and turns out that was not illegal.
completely their fault, i ended up with a new rear end on my car, which is a good thing because it had dents.
Everything went better than expected.jpg

Beep and honk are two different sounds. If your horn is honking, you've spent too much on a novelty horn.
User avatar #96 to #94 - rjgnal ONLINE (12/06/2012) [-]
thats the actions name, not an imitating the sound
User avatar #97 to #96 - isomeras (12/06/2012) [-]
How the **** do you honk something by pressing a point on your steering wheel? If anything you're "pressing" your horn.
User avatar #98 to #97 - rjgnal ONLINE (12/06/2012) [-]
if you still dont get it just please stop replying
User avatar #99 to #98 - isomeras (12/06/2012) [-]
But the sound is a beep, not a honk.
