This is true, though a lot of the internet would disagree.
Then again, I'm more of a dog person anyway so my opinion on the matter is some-what biased.

He was referring to the fact that some stupid and racist English people, like the EDL call all Arab looking people Pakis, when Arabs are not from Pakistan.

I know a lot of foreign families (incidentally, I'm white) and the ones who are most burdened with being called pakis (whom aren't Pakis) and Indian people I know (that means they are from India), Indians are not Arabs either, yet they also get called Arabs.

Paki is a racist term for a Pakistani person. If they call someone not from Pakistan a Paki then they're even more of a cunt than they already are.

******* Royal Family, this will be the news headlines for the next 9 ******* months, then it'll be flooded with **** about the kid once its born.

Why are they even famous, They don't do **** all. Its like the Kardashians, except at least the Kardashians made a sex tape for fame, the Royal Family has done nothing since the 18th century, when the Prime Minister took over as the executive leader of the country.

All they're for now is the face on a coin. Yet they're still given fame through newspapers, and money through the average guys taxes, so they can go on holidays every weekend and pay to go to St. Andrews to get a degree they're never going to use for a career.
User avatar #28 to #20 - beffen (12/05/2012) [-]
They're a figure head and a large part of our country's income. If you take away the Queen, it'd be like taking the American flag away from America, it's all patriotic stuff.

They're a tourist trap, they bring money into the UK through people visiting. Whether you're right or wrong, the country is financially better off keeping the Royal Family famous.
User avatar #37 to #22 - odonnell (12/05/2012) [-]
Fair enough, they're still a pain in the arse though. If I was American and the news blasted the Royal Family in my face repeatedly I'd want to go less.

I'm leaving anyway, don't know where to, but it can't be much worse than here. The only way to describe it is: Freddo's are 25p, thats as low as an economy can go.
#51 to #37 - anon (12/05/2012) [-]
Freddo's were 5p when I was a nipper
#70 to #22 - anon (12/05/2012) [-]
As a tourist that has been to England, I didn't go there to see a queen though I did see the Buckingham palace, but just because it was a nice looking place. Same can be said about the White house, the Eiffel tower and other landmarks. I came to see them not the people living in them.

Anything to do with the royal family immediately pisses me off. It's so ******* stupid that they think this **** should have a larger segment in the news than the situation in the Middle East.

I doubt the royal family feels that way. It is the stupid media that chooses to run these kinds of stories everywhere.

"The government declared that Harry was the most popular boy's name, but if you add up the five most popular different spellings of Mohammed, that name comes top."

It's useful to read the text before criticizing it.

Mohammed is the most popular name in the world, not Britain. I think that's where they made the mistake.

Why is this **** on the news? There's a second revolution in Egypt right now and I don't see any news channels covering it
User avatar #95 to #60 - tombombadil (12/05/2012) [-]
The revolution has been going on. People know that it's happening and if they kept mentioning it all the time, people would get bored and stop watching. If you really care, I'm sure there's plenty of reports on the news site of your choosing, on the internet. Which you are using.
User avatar #100 to #95 - Harkonnen (12/05/2012) [-]
I mean TV news. Yes its on You need to login to view this link if you look deep enough. What I'm saying is its a big deal that should be the top headline yet the TV news media is focusing on retarded ****
User avatar #102 to #100 - tombombadil (12/05/2012) [-]
Their job is to focus on breaking topics. I know Egypt is a very important topic, but it's like the situation in Syria. The Syrian revolution has been raging on for a year, but the tv news tends to ignore it most of the time because not much has changed since they used to focus on it all the time.
User avatar #107 to #102 - Harkonnen (12/05/2012) [-]
But these demonstrations just started and the government just began to get violent. It is breaking news
User avatar #108 to #107 - tombombadil (12/05/2012) [-]
Well, I mean, I've been hearing about it almost for a month. I don't know when the violence started, but the problems in Egypt aren't the newest thing. Plus, TV news does try to be a little fluffier and less serious.
