Listen. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Macs. At all. I won't stand by Apple's decisions all the time, but I stand by their product. YES there are things a PC is better at than a Mac, but there are things a Mac is better at as well. I have used both extensively, and I still do use a PC partition on my Mac quite regularly. Macs are much more user friendly than PCs in my opinion. They're easier to use and get used to, and are more self explanatory. They're also better at dealing with digital media. For the typical user that just wants to screw with pictures, use iTunes and go on the internet a Mac is a much better option than a PC. If you want to be a hardcore gamer or programmer and get in depth with your computer then you want a PC. That's the reason there's so much hate on Macs on these internet forums. Many people that are outspoken here spend a ton of time on computers either programming or gaming, so there is a ton of support for the PC. Most mac users are more casual, because if they were intense about computers they'd probably agree that PCs are better for more in depth stuff. The statements about a Mac being worse than a PC are so wrong it's hilarious. They're different. It's like saying a freezer is worse than a refrigerator because you can't store drinks in it without them freezing. Both machines have their strong points. However, I will never disagree when someone says a Mac is overpriced. These ******* things are so ******* expensive.

The common misconception that Macs are better at digital media is kind of ridiculous. Yes, Macs tend to be more focused on digital media. However, A PC can do any kind of digital media editing that a mac can, as long as you are willing to buy the products. Sure Macs may be more "user friendly" when it comes to that kind of stuff, but they are also more limiting. A Mac is good at what it does, I'm not saying it isn't. But anything you can do on a Mac you can do on a PC. The reverse is not true.

The funny thing is, Macs are actually pretty good for programming. All you really need for programming is, depending on the language, a compiler or an IDE. You can get those on a Mac just as easily. If you want Visual Studio you have to have a PC (I think) but other than that there are plenty of things out there. It really comes down to what kind of programming you want to do.

The problem I have with people who use macs is that they're basically buying a $2000 Facebook machine. If that's all they're going to use it for, why on EARTH would you spend that much money?
