Dresden Files is my favorite series! New one out this month.

Also I am just now reading his Codex Alera series, which looked bland at first, but is actually a REALLY good story with tons of character development and surprises. If you like Dresden Files, check out Codex Alera.

I know! I'm getting the book soon, I can't freaking wait! When I get the time, I want to read the Codex saga, but I just haven't gotten the chance to.

He only has 2 series: Codex Alera and The Dresden Files.

Both are amazing stories. The Dresden Files is ongoing with tons of books, all of them great (new one out this month!!). Codex Alera finished with book 6, and I am currently reading book 4.

I highly recommend both series. Besides that; other favorites are Golden Compass saga, Inheritance Cycle, Pendragon series (younger audience, but still good), and the Mistborn Trilogy.

Those are all my favorite books. x)

Yeah well its the story of a child who realizes his life living on a farm in the middle of nowhere is about to change a whole lot as he discovers he's basically one of the pivotal parts of a prophesy written in the beginnings of time when a mistake split Purpose into two. Its all pretty cool
User avatar #384 to #377 - NOOBZLOL (12/02/2012) [-]

I'm reading The Fault In Our Stars now, it's also great (in a completely different way).
User avatar #359 to #356 - NOOBZLOL (12/02/2012) [-]
what way is that?
User avatar #362 to #359 - semisane (12/02/2012) [-]
You know those books you read in school where they make you overanalyze the **** out of it and it completely ruins the book?
!!Well, if you read them later on at your own pace and try to understand them for yourself and not for some ******** test, some of them can be amazing. The Fault In Our Stars is like that. It's about a 16 year old girl who has cancer.
User avatar #376 to #362 - NOOBZLOL (12/02/2012) [-]
is it the type of story that makes you cry in the end?
User avatar #379 to #376 - semisane (12/02/2012) [-]
I hope not =\
But probably
User avatar #381 to #379 - NOOBZLOL (12/02/2012) [-]

Has anyone read the Chronicles of the Necromancer?
#330 to #314 - anonymous (12/02/2012) [-]
A Song of Ice and Fire, known by Noobs as "A Game of Thrones"

A really good, if complicated, book series.
Basically, fulfills everything you just said.
Also has Sex.

I'm the same way, but I can't read third-person view books; I just can't get into it.
I highly prefer first-person because I feel like I'm actually that person and feeling their emotions, rather than trying to feel the emotions of a dozen.

I just recently started reading again too, and one series I absolutely loved was Vampire Academy.
It's very original for a series about vampires; they even have dhampirs and powers and **** .
I would recommend it, if you don't mind reading from a girl's perspective; she's pretty bad-ass, though.

If you like fantasy I 150% recommend you this book: The name of the wind.
It'll be a triology (only 2 books so far) and they are DAMN good.
If you don't like fantasy I still recommend you because the story line is pretty good, it's an easy reading book and the story is original.
User avatar #324 to #322 - arandomanon ONLINE (12/02/2012) [-]
Oh and the author is Patrick Rothfuss

No problem good sir. And don't be scared of the books length (the 1st one is about 800 pages and the second is like.. 1200 more or less if I'm not mistaken) because you'll see how easily you'll read each page.
Maybe you'll find the 1st book's beggining a little bit boring but give it a chance. I didn't find it boring, just saying because I have a friend who thought that. But he read a bit more and he loved the book.

I feel like the Inheritance Cycle is the way to go. Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, and Inheritance. Great books.

Thumb for the Inheritance Cycle!

I never finished that series... First 3 were great. Then that stupid movie came out...
User avatar #349 to #346 - mylazy (12/02/2012) [-]
Read the last one. It is great. The ending brings a weird kind of sadness, since not to many particularly important people die, but you still feel immense sadness because of it. At least that is my view. Either way, it is worth the read.
#354 to #349 - drewvinator (12/02/2012) [-]
Yeh i might still. I must have read that like 8 years ago?

#316 to #299 - anonymous (12/02/2012) [-]
I read some of the original John Carter series, by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Love it, the movie is not even the same story and it's cool cause it's the very first sci-fi story.

Hunger Games were actually OK. Not award-winning writing but interesting enough to keep reading.

That happened to me a lot with The Stand by Steven King
