The anti-derivative of x/(1+x^2)^3 is equal to -1/4(1+x^2)^2, not -1/2(1+x^2)^2 OP. The answer should be -1/4, not -1/2, for this definite integral with a limit.

Actually, good sir, I believe you have misread the problem. In fact, I believe that OP is solving for the anti-derivative of x/(1+x^2)^2, not x/(1+x^2)^3 as you originally thought. As a result, I found -1/2 to, indeed, be the correct answer, using u-subsitution.
