And their job is bothering other people non-stop with products they don't want. And scaring them into ever giving out their phone number to anyone. Plus, most telemarketers now don't even have the decency to have a real person on the phone. It's just a machine calling you and if you bother to answer it will ask you to wait a minute for them to get a real person on the phone. Sure makes me love that profession!

I don't love them, but you think they're telearketers because they WANT to be? I mean **** , I'm sure they're not happy about it wither.

True, the economy is bad all over the world. However, how low would you need to be to except a job like that? One that constantly bothers others. Not even able to see them face to face, not interested in anything but their money. Now I know that most busynesses are only interested in money, but this just seems over the top.

I have a job where i have to call my university's alumni to ask for donations. I hate the job with passion. I do not enjoy talking to people and asking for money. I still need to pay my bills and student loans. I don't have much experience in general so there was really nothing that I was qualified to do. Don't be mean to telemarketers. Most hate their jobs. I've actually have broken down and bawled my ass off because of the people I have to deal with.

you sound like someone who's never been completely on their own financially. i worked telemarketing for a while after high school. everyone who works there ******* hates it. we hated how we had to talk to people. they make you harass them until they hang up or tell you to **** yourself. even doing customer service people are jerks to you. not to mention you have to work on christmas, halloween, your birthday. no one wants or enjoys that job, but you shouldn't judge people for doing what they have to to pay the bills, especially when there's no mommy and daddy to fall back on. it's better than being a mooch, and not everyone can afford to turn down jobs on principle like you apparently can.

Dude, a job's a job. If it pays enough to put food on the table, go for it. I'd rather have 5 telemarketer calls that I can hang up on within 5 seconds than have people on welfare leeching off of me indirectly for months.
That said, welfare is kind of a touchy subject. I have nothing against people who use it to get back on their feet while they get settled into another job.

Welfare is a touchy subject for me as well. I understand that some people actually do need and appreciate it, but others just abuse it for the sake of laziness.

Have kids.
Lost job due to layoffs.
No fallback plan.
Take any job you can.

I WISH my parents 'sunk that low' when I was a kid, boiling water to bath because we didn't have hot water wasn't that fun at 10 years old.

I've never had it that rough in my life. So I feel bad for you and hope that you will never have to do that again. I understand the point that you are making. But I will always have a small hatred towards telemarketers. No matter why they took the job.
