the battery might not be ******** , but I'm gonna guess that the formulas are completely made up to make it seem more believable.

...Wait. If I read that right, there is only 2 minutes of cell phone usage time and 25 minutes of it not doing anything. I'm not trying to sound spoiled or anything, but that's not very ******* convenient having only 2 minutes to talk to someone.

I think it's alright. You know like a back up phone.
User avatar #45 to #44 - swedishassassin (11/29/2012) [-]
Well, I can totally see it as an emergency phone if you got lost in the woods or something. I just can't see it as a commercial phone until it can improve the level of charge.
User avatar #47 to #45 - lastofthedovakhiin (11/29/2012) [-]
It needs alot of work if it's commercial.
User avatar #46 to #41 - spectacledbear (11/29/2012) [-]
I think those numbers were from 130 rotations so maybe if you do more, then there'll be more time?
User avatar #48 to #46 - swedishassassin (11/29/2012) [-]
Maybe. If that's the case they should clarify that a little better
#49 to #41 - shugudugs (11/29/2012) [-]
Think of it like this, you could use the stand-by time to wait for a call or a text.
Men, if you were stuck in like, the 127 Hours, something like that, wouldn't this be a convenience.
Also, finger exercise.

User avatar #72 to #49 - swedishassassin (11/29/2012) [-]
Yes, but that means you have to know preemptively that someone is going to text you at a point in time, which nearly kills the point of a text or call. It's not about being a man. It's about being contactable on a convenient level. This product looks like it'd be great to have on a survival phone, but not as a day-to-day cell phone
User avatar #22 - dubsteppahjoe (11/29/2012) [-]
I'd charge it with a drill
User avatar #32 to #22 - ccccmoney (11/29/2012) [-]
Wouldn't that wear the charger out?
Also, I can see myself asking a teacher back when I went to school if I can charge my phone, then pulling out a drill and using it on the battery in class (no sharp bits, no arrest :D )
User avatar #26 to #22 - herpaderpnugget (11/29/2012) [-]
Then you would have to power the drill.

I'm going to be cosplaying Gamzee soon. Just need the horns really, and some polka dotted pants.
User avatar #67 to #66 - baconrider (11/29/2012) [-]
I did Eridan once. GREY. PAINT. ERRWHERE.
#69 to #67 - inathecold (11/29/2012) [-]
So did I. I've got the scarf hanging on my doorknob. My friend who got me into Homestuck was like "You'd be a perfect Eridan." And then after I got all cosplay'ed up they were like "You make a great Eridan, but we're going to try Gamzee now."
User avatar #70 to #69 - baconrider (11/29/2012) [-]
I did mine at school. Horn fell off and broke from the crowds.
#71 to #70 - inathecold (11/29/2012) [-]
My first horns were makeshift duct-tape ones.. We're Model Magic'ing my Gamzee horns.

you cant charge a lithium polymer battery by twirling it like a faggot.
thats retarded
User avatar #55 to #52 - mrjweezy (11/29/2012) [-]
so whats your innovative idea.
you must be a scientist.

no but im an expert on lithim ion,
lithium polymer,
lithium iron phosphate,
lead acid
nickle cadium
and nickle metal batteries.
User avatar #61 to #59 - mrfourtysevenman (11/29/2012) [-]
the only way to charge a lithium polymer battery is to charge it at an amperage that matches its capacity.
if it holds 1 amp-hour, you charge it at one amp for one hour
not twirling it around trying to convince people youre actually doing something cool.
and all the red thumbs in the world isnt going to change that.
sorry.
#73 to #61 - autoxx (11/29/2012) [-]
If the battery is rated for charging over 1C then it would be fine. Some of the newer batteries are rated over 8C. I could spin that on my finger for 7.5 minutes...
The chances of generating that kind of current with it's mass/inertia are pretty slim though.
User avatar #74 to #73 - mrfourtysevenman (11/29/2012) [-]
i have a battery called a nano tech.
it discharges at a whopping 90C and can be charged at 10C
its a 2200mAh 3 cell and it would be safe to charge it at 200 amps if im correct
#75 to #74 - autoxx (11/30/2012) [-]
I thought the nanotech topped out at 5C charge rate, is yours an "A-spec"?
Gotta love HK ^_^

Or is this not electromech stuff, I know we did **** like that...
#15 - frink (11/28/2012) [-]
I would have made a battery with a USB port. A lot of phones you can't easily access the battery and some are built in. That way it can be used universally.
