There are 3 types of hatred towards Apple.

The first is the easiest o explain and its just blind hatred from people who love to hate things.

The second (and probably the group most deserving of their hate) comes from ex apple fans who used to love what apple did until apple started coasting and no longer being revolutionary but kept throwing the word around like they patented it.

The third is the widest form of hate, this comes from the people who know enough about computers to see that apple products just do not compare spec wise or price wise with the competitors.

I myself fall into the third group, i was too young to experience the glory days of apple and have only experienced the over hyped pieces of crap they keep churning out. But to be honest i don't hate apple for what they have done, i hate their products yeah but given the same situation, a way to maximize profits by cutting down R&D costs and having a horde of apple zombies which will buy your product the day of launch even if the previous product came out like 6 months prior. I would totally do that. The thing i hate most about the whole apple product stuff is the people who buy the product with only the intent to browse FB and twitter and instagram, these are the people who do not know how to handle money, these are the people contributing to recessions.

Coming from a mac user I find it mostly true
I do not agree with the recession comment
The long run supply curve is our potential gross domestic product and it's employment at a 100% with a vertical slope
The aggregate demand curve is inversely proportional according to price level and gdp
the short run supply curve is sloped upwards, regarding price level of goods and gdp
where they all intersect is called a recessionary gap
this is due to the government thinning out the crowd (the crowding out effect)
the 2 matters that can increase gdp and eventually get out of the recession is through fiscal and monitory policy
fiscal policy basically gives people more nominal income in order to spend more, creating more jobs, and increasing consumption GPD=Consumption+investment+government spending+ (net exports)
If people buy more apple products they are increasing consumption of a good, which in return creates more jobs for apple
increasing the gross domestic production and shifting the aggregate demand curve to the right in order to increase employment
I am taking macroeconomics as a sophomore in college, my teacher was stockbroker for over 15 years and has learned all this inside and out.
mfw people don't read all of it
tl;dr buying apple products do not contribute to recessions

You forgot those who hated Steve Jobs and let that hate grow into hatred of his company.

Also, some people dislike Apple as a whole due to their questionable business techniques, like patenting ******* everything, even if someone else actually beat them to it. I guess these people could probably fall under your second category though.

I'm with you. Although I'm not anything along the lines of an computer tech of any sorts, I know and understand my computer. I have both a PC and a Mac laptop (it was required for the school I got to) and I can honestly say the Mac does absolutely nothing more special than any basic PC. It's just a matter of how you use your computers. Macs, I have found, are the best type of computer for those with A) money and B) no computer sense at all; simply because they do everything for you, almost like a phone in a sense. I say this because the first thing I noticed on my Mac was that it did just that, it grouped all my emails together, did all sorts of neat little tricks and basically did all the hard labor I do on a PC, for me. However, being a person who loves customization, control and knows a thing or two about PCs, I hated it. I had no control over anything and couldn't customize it at all, nothing near like my PC. This is because Macs are designed towards those who tend to break PCs because they don't know how to use, and how do you fix that? Give them an enclosed environment where everything's done for them and they cant screw it up, therefore less problems and they love you. Then added to that, is the fact they have a Mac world meaning no more confusing tech guys to talk to, no more where do i send to fix it, nothing, just send to Apple and they fix it. So basically they're really great for those who can afford that kind of.. luxury shall we say, and don't want to learn, or don't know how to use a PC.

I personally don't blindly despise Apple or Macs, but prefer PCs over them. I do, however, hate the mentality people seem to develop from owning one; as if it's some sort of special tool that can scratch your ass from space. It's nothing fancy, just expensive and easy to use.

Tl;td: Macs are better for the rich and not so computer savvy type, PC is for those who are tech savvy.

Why was that negative?? I thumbed because it was a smart comment. I myself don't hate the products but, how Steve Jobs ****** over an entire community of programmers.

He took the Open Source programmers work, and slapped an Apple logo and a price tag and called it his. I loved apple before circa 2005.

Which work would that be? Apple is Unix based at the kernel not Linux.

But Linus was one of the original founders of Open Source. UNIX intended for Open Source. No matter what it runs off he took Open Source and put a price on it.

Unix was not intended for open source in fact Linus Torvalds wanted to employ an open source version of Unix hence the name "Linux".

The origin of Unix is Bell Labs 1969 one of the major developers was Dennis Ritchie. Linus Torvalds simply took multiple different open source products and pieced them into one convenient package named Linux 1.0 which was released in 1991.

Unix was most definitely made for profit though as a server system operating system for AT&T (owner of Bell Labs)

Not trying to be rude just keeping the facts straight.

    No problem.

I personally don't like their business practices either.
Mostly for marketing overpriced product to customers that don't know what they're buying. For example Mac Pros feature XEON processors only which are designed for server based work 95% of which the common user won't use.

My current systems are listed below. I figure you meant OS and not specs but I can list specs for the Laptop/Desktop if you want.

    Laptop(on now):
OS1: Windows 8 Pro Media Center
    OS2: RedHat Linux

    Desktop(Just bought):
OS1: Windows 8 Pro Media Center
    OS2: Linux (undetermined distro)

    Work:
    OS1: Windows 7
    OS2: Redhat Enterprise Server

I like RedHat it's very clean and professional. I always felt like Ubuntu was a little messy but I think that's more because it's true open source. It's always in development and new ideas are always being added where as RedHat serves a specific purpose.
Honestly I use Redhat mostly just because I got so used to using it at work.

I always wanted to get into Backtrack I may put it on my new desktop when it arrives.

Why do you feel it's babying you?

It feels way too graphical, and I know it sounds stupid, but when I say I use ubuntu to people who really know what they are doing I feel like I'm still in baby Linux. Kinda odd huh.

Ubuntu is the starting place for many. I'd call it the "enthusiast" platform. Hell I started with it the only reason i'm on redhat is from work. I know a ton of computer engineers who still use ubuntu.

I do understand where you're coming from though.

So somewhat related do you happen to use DD-WRT or Tomato?
