This sums it up.
Mac: For people who have limited skills in computing and need a simple interface with low maintenance that has all of the programs they need in one place.
PC: For people who have computing skills and know how to use a PC for literally ANYTHING a Mac can do and know how to take care of a computer.
I will pause here. There's nothing wrong with having limited computing skills; maybe you just don't care for computers or get your entertainment elsewhere or have no real use for computers in your daily life.
That said, you're a noob if you can't get the Mac OS and its programs on your PC for free. I mean, you could theoretically buy two PCs for the price of one Macbook and boot one with Mac OS and one with Windows. There may be a market for PC laptops which have been converted to run Mac OS. If you're knowledgeable about computers, I think it's retarded to buy a Mac, but if you don't know a lot about computers (Until PC-to-Mac converted laptops are available), I think it's reasonable enough to buy a Mac.
Tl;dr: Macs: For people with little knowledge about computers
PCs: For people with knowledge about computers
Macs are much more simple in many ways. that you are right about. However, people buy apple products simply for the brand. they assume that because a mac is shiny and expensive, that it must be a top of the line machine. I think you have the right idea for a world where we don't have stupid people.
And if you want to make a point and be credible, don't ever use the word 'noob'.
Yeah, I agree that most people buy Macs for the Apple on the back, but I didn't want to start that *********, lol.
Or, my mom bought me a mac and I decided It's smarter to use it, rather than get a different computer and spend unnecessary money.
"My mom bought it for me" is one of the most annoying excuses I hear. I hear it about Apple products and about Beats by Dr. Dre (also overpriced ********).
If my mom bought me a Macbook, I would tell her how irresponsible it is to buy me a Mac. I would tell her to take it back and either keep the extra money or buy me something else or just give me the money. Or I would return the Mac myself.
Plus, if your mom bought you a Mac, it's because moms generally don't know a lot about computers and listen to whatever the people at Best Buy say about computers, so my statement still stands true. But, like I said, there's nothing wrong with not knowing a lot about computers (also, I don't have a mom, so this is all hypothetical, but just read as if I had a mom, ha).
If MY mom bought me a Mac, instead of being an ungrateful little piece of **** that should have remained in the condom after the last john left, I would say THANKS mom, and suck that ******** up, realizing mom didn't have time to do all the marketing research that my ungrateful little snotty ass did because she was working two jobs to buy my useless little unappreciative self something that she thought I would really like because she she LOVES me despite the fact that I'm a ******* sanctimonious asshole who will continue to live in her basement till the day she ******* DIES trying to support me!!!
It wouldn't be ungrateful to tell your Mom she bought something overpriced. It may be insensitive, because it hurts people's feelings sometimes when they don't get the gift right the first time (and the recipient says something about it). If it was a crappy laptop and I complained, that would be ungrateful. My mom (before she left) would have appreciated the fact that I told her the error of her ways, as long as I was grateful for the thought, because she wasn't a whiny, weak bitch who got her feelings hurt about everything. It's not like I would see the Mac and be like "Oh mai god, Mom, Macs are stupid!". I would be excited that she spent that much money on me. But I would tell her at some point that the purchase was misguided, and she would have returned the Mac and she would have gotten me a PC and probably some clothes and we'd have the Christmas/Birthday experience all over again, because she would have wrapped it and surprised me with it, because she was ******* awesome when she was around. Btw, bold print is just as bad as Caps Lock.
….. It was a birthday present. What the hell was I supposed to say, "No, I don't want this gift because I'm a pretentious asshole who is too good for it"?
I guess I need to back up.
Macs are not bad computers. In fact, they are great computers with low failure rates and low temperatures (in my experience) and are low-maintenance machines. I do not feel like I am too good for a Mac, because Macs are good computers. I do not feel I am too good for any gift. I would have been grateful and I would have been excited about the Macbook, but at some point I would tell my Mom that she bought an overpriced product. My parents know the value of a dollar and would appreciate that I told them they got swindled out of hundreds of dollars. They know I'm grateful, but they know I'm smart with computers, and they would like it if I told them, because they could either keep the money or buy me more things if they returned the Mac. Let me clarify; I would not get mad if they wanted me to keep it anyway, but they both want bang for the buck. If they could get me a great computer, they would like that, but if they could get me a great computer and a bunch of other things, they would like that better. I'm not a pretentious asshole who thinks he's above owning a Mac. I do not think it's low to own or buy a Mac.
