My friend had a foreign exchange student (from China I think) and she would eat toast with a knife and fork. And would take apart a sandwich and eat the individual parts of the sandwich.

I think she's a bitch for secretly taking a picture of his brother and posting it on FB with an agressive caption.
Also repost but that was like 9 months ago instead of 9 minutes.

How is eating pizza with chopsticks shameful?

I find it interesting how people of a certain race tend to try to connect with people of their same race when they are the minority of an area. At least that's what I've come to believe.

I don't see the problem. Too hot to touch it with his hands. Too much to trouble to cut it with knife and fork. So use chopsticks.

I think most westerners don't actually realize that chopsticks are basically just a finger replacement. Anything you can eat well with your fingers is a good match for being eaten with chopsticks (without getting your fingers burnt or dirty).

It's amazing how Western cultures decided to pick up food by the most straightforeward and simple method possible, jam something sharp in it.
Asian cultures, on the other hand, took the path of most resistance (though definitely the most elegant).

I didn't mean that was a bad thing-- On the contrary, I think it's sophisticated and elegant.

i don't understand chopsticks. at some point in history a chinese person went "this whole eating thing is a bit easy isn't it? i mean spoon, mouth, spoon, mouth. it's so boring. you know what would make it much more interesting? eating everything with two thin wooden prongs!" and an entire race of people agreed.
