A capitalist system works because it plays on man's biggest flaw.
Communism doesn't work because it is built on man's biggest virtue.

People are assholes, might as well accept it.

Communism doesn't work because no one wants to go to years of schooling and practice to be payed the same amount as the dude who picks up your trash

Well, I was actually going to right something in brackets along the lines of
"A capitalist system works (well, kind of) because..."

But it ruined the simplicity and flow of the comment. Nothing ever really works. The system is flawed, and the only thing you can do about it is a revolution that will just replace it with something similarly flawed.

I would consider myself a communist, idealistic, but I just have no faith in people anymore, so I don't know where to place myself politically..

Ideologicaly I am Anarchist but without law and people to govern the law the world would destroy itself. If everyone was nice "how do you do" type person and respected each other anarchy could work but without people being cordial it will never work. I do not like the government demanding stuff of me nor do I like other countries demanding things of my country. Trade should be equal (e.g. i give you food, you give me electricity but on a larger scale between countries) so that there is an interdependance which deletes the necessity of war unless one country holds out, in which case that country would be held responsible by all other countries because of the dependance limiting the war to something small instead of world war type scenario.

"(...) interdependance which deletes the necessity of war..."
>implying there exist a necessity of war as of now

This is a really optimistic point of view. I completely understand what you mean, but there will always be that one country that goes "Wow, you faggots at [other country] don't give me enough rice for the copper we supply! Give more or we will **** u up ******!" People are asshats like that. It's in our nature to **** everything up.

Damn, I'm in a bad mood today... I'm cranky from too little sleep, and I have to stay fresh many hours yet. Hitman opens up on Steam in only 7 hours!

haha. I take a sleep aid/anti depressant so i get plenty of sleep. and yea it is optomistic but thats as far as my optimism goes. im not gonna try and change the entire planet it cant work out and thats pretty much the end of that but thats the type of world we should live in. If everyone was logical instead of emotional. Even i would find myself either dead or killing if the world was in anarchy. Communism in my opinion is one of those things that i can see working but its not really fair that everyone would get the same amount when obviously those that earned a degree in law or medicine or anything else deserve more than a highschool dropout. I believe you should get payed based on difficulty of job and workload and degree not just degree though because a CEO of a big company really doesnt deserve more than a doctor and a NFL player definately doesnt deserve more than a marine.

It's a good point, of course people should be awarded for working extra hard, but not at the expense of people who might not be able to work that hard. And the whole NFL player/marine salary, that is so wrong, but that's how it works in the systems that exist.

Being a doctor shouldn't necessarily pay that much more IMO. Of course good doctors a priceless, but they had the interest and the talent to do that. Should you earn less if you are not by nature dispositioned to take on that job? Becoming a full educated school teacher takes about as long as becoming a doctor, but they are paid less than a third the salary. Being a kindergarden teacher is less than a fourth the salary of a doctor, though the way to becoming one is also pretty long. And the job itself is at least as important as the doctors. They are our only guarantee that the next generation will not become violent, narcissistic assholes, and they are the sole reason the doctor can actually leave home to get to work in the morning. And the highschool drop-out might become the car-mechanic that makes sure the doctor can drive to work and the ambulance can pick up his patients.

I'm pretty sure we agree on this, I just wanted to paint a picture.
Oh, and then the mentally/physically handicapped: they should be taken care of and be able to live a full and worthy life just like the rest of us, without making their families poor because they can't provide financially. The government should support those who needed it.

Which does not include the people that made bad decisions and smoke and drank there money away. obviously those people are important but a teacher does not go to school (at least all at once they have continued education but so do doctors for the most part) as long as a doctor, to be a physician the normal time is 6-8 years and then some. For a surgeon (at least in the case of brain/heart) they usually dont start working till there late 30s due to the extensive knowledge needed. I'll agree we need all the people to make a working civilization but in all honesty some are more important than others in the workforce. If you take away a persons job and compare the two people and judge them based on their person and not what they provide then all are equal it is what they do with that equality that distinguishes them, and if they cannot afford to go to school to be a doctor is when the government should help, not with a loan but with grants and the such provided a background check and current statuses check is taken to assure that the money wont be wasted.

I think on paper, yes, a lot of the ideas of communism work. Unfortunately, for those ideas to follow through, you'd have to live in a society where people don't try to make a grab for power.

There has been no true communism in this world yet, because this world is a struggle for power.
