2012 Starts the Durr phase of the once great history channel's transformation into MTV. This **** is why you have people flip and climb bell towers with rifles.

Oh how I miss the golden age of the fuhrer

The only new show I actually enjoyed was Pawn Stars. You get to learn the history of the items, and a lot of the items are pretty interesting too.

The rest, like stuff about loggers and alligator hunters, is just a complete waste of a good television slot.

And in the Hitler age, at least you were able to learn an assload of cool **** about WWII.

And they do still show some good history shows on there that are actually about history. I also liked when they showed "The Universe". Now watching that stuff made you feel smart. But now they have "Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman" opn the Science Channel, so I am happy.

sigh i used to love the history channel.
Then it just got bad, and much of television followed.
Now i just play video games. They just keep getting better imo

This happens at my uncles house every winter. He has a door in his basement and the steps are outside so the stairway fills up with snow every winter and does this.

They did show something called "The men who built America"

it was pretty damn interesting

OP forgot Pawn Stars, Cajun Pawn Stars, American Restoration, and Counting Cars.

You know, because working in a fake pawn shop, restoring items and selling vehicles is history.

Pawn stars I didn't mind mainly because they actually showed the history of the items, but that is the show that opened the floodgates.

i met those guys, they are pretty awesome actually
#181 to #180 - ironstrike (11/19/2012) [-]
It really is lol.

I always wondered about that. I just came to the conclusion that the Pawn Star(s) guys are hooking everyone up with History Channel - or the guys from American Restoration and Counting Cars thought something like "hey if those fatass losers could get a show on History channel, anyone can".

Plus there's only so many times you can watch them completely rip them off after they no how valuable their stuff is.

I hate watching that part too of the show.

"Well it seems this rifle is worth almost 4000 dollars, but I'm gonna have to give you 75 bucks for it."

Sadly they gotta make a profit too as they explained many times, You also gotta think, how many people are gonna buy a generator from the 1920s?

I blame the viewers. it's gotten to a point where they are entertained with mostly reality shows and fake drama like 16 and pregnant, ect. If the history channel continued to show actual historical things like it used to they wouldn't get any views because most people don't give a **** so the channel is forced to adapt to what people are interested in otherwise they would have to shut down
User avatar #170 - legendry (11/19/2012) [-]
actually today i watched a show on roman emperors, so theres still some decent shows on the history channel

User avatar #168 - jxj (11/19/2012) [-]
people make fun of pawn stars, yet I find it far and away more watchable then ******** pawn.
User avatar #193 to #168 - thatscrewedupkid (11/19/2012) [-]
totally agree, in an episode of ******** pawn its like one item, 30 crazy customers and seth and ashley bitching at eachother. i like pawnstars for the items and the personality of the guys
