I'm not into that kind of thing, but I can definitely understand it. Let me explain:

My girlfriend, now ex-girlfriend, recently broke up with me, because she is a Christian, I an Atheist, and she a believer in being "equally yolked."

Well, I went to her place a couple days after she broke up with me, since we didn't break up on bad terms, if we could still be good friends. I mean, we've been dating for over three years; we'd come to know each other better than many know their relatives.

Well, she said yes, and since I'd come on the pretense of watching Stargate, we watched Stargate, in her bed, under the covers from 10-1AM, when I left to go home and try to get some sleep. I had work in the morning.

Since then, three days have passed, and every night we've spent in bed--hers or mine--watching Stargate, as friends, under the blankets, in the coldness of winter. But however cold it gets, we never get too close. I- I really don't know why we can't. We're best friends; why can't we cuddle? Unwritten laws? It makes me want to cry.

This whole situation makes me want to cry. And, really, I can understand the OP's sentiment. I can understand the desire to kill her to cuddle her one more time, if only to end it for myself shortly after. I can understand the desire to embrace her one last time, not as friends, but as lovers, because--in death--she'd no longer be able to refuse my love.

Namseal, don't let religion stop you.

Well, she's probably afraid that she'd start having desires to do adulterous things. It's called a near occasion of sin. Truth be told, being under the covers together at that time of night is pretty damn trusting and comfortable for diehard Christians.
