This is my bird.
He's a variegated crested american singer canary.
And he has the most awesome hairdo on the planet.
#124 to #47 - Dember ONLINE (11/17/2012) [-]
He's an ornery little snot most of the time, but if he's too annoying, you can just set him on his back and he'll stay there and look disgusted with you. Tweety has nothing on this guy.

Seriously, look at my dog trying to figure this epic ************ out.

He's like "yo man, what's up with that 'do? Do you idolize Friar Tuck or are you just auditioning to join the Beatles?"

User avatar #49 to #11 - parrotgod (11/17/2012) [-]
I've got 10......7 cockatiels because two of them decided to make babies, one love bird, one sun conure and a CAG. -.- if you lived in WA I'd let you totally take two of the babies off my hands.

This is my bird Harley, she is a Congo African Grey. The smartest, biggest asshole parrot you could ever own on the planet. This bird is a source of love, and horrifying levels of troll. If you want a bird, you are basically adopting a 5 year old that can live up to 100 years with a can opener on it's face designed to destroy everything you enjoy and the wings to carry it off to places you cannot reach. Some how, SOME HOW, you end up still loving the little ****** especially when little verbal gems like, "WHAT THE **** ARE YOU DOING ****** ?!" comes flying out of the bird's mouth during when your mother visits for the weekend.....

P.S. I am a crazy bird lady I own 10 parrots and after 6 years of raising them I wonder what life is like outside being owned by them.....
#66 to #45 - kcits (11/17/2012) [-]
Yep. I grew up with a blue crown conure (died last year,) and pretty much all you've said rings true to me. How did your bird pick up that, "wtf are you doing, ****** ?" gem, though? o_O

I've lost babies before too...it's never easy. By the by is she a solomon island or a red sided ekkie? I know the girls are so much harder to tell than the boys are when it comes to which of the four kinds of eclectus they are.
User avatar #91 to #86 - novabird ONLINE (11/17/2012) [-]
at least you can draw, i can only draw parrots(full detail), trees, plants and blueprints.
User avatar #90 to #86 - novabird ONLINE (11/17/2012) [-]
vosmary/solomon hybrid actually and you can't get any more well behaved than she is, i can trust her everywhere.
User avatar #77 to #66 - parrotgod (11/17/2012) [-]
Grandfather is pretty racist, so when ever he calls and I'm working at home so my hands are busy drawing I often have him on speaker phone. I quit doing that after she picked up the world ****** and Satan.... it's gonna be_ __FUN___ trying to raise kids around her.
User avatar #81 to #77 - novabird ONLINE (11/17/2012) [-]
simply ignore it when she says offensive things and reward her for saying something good that you teach her to say instead and advise others to do the same.
User avatar #84 to #81 - parrotgod (11/17/2012) [-]
Been working on that for a while, hopefully she'll calm down with the N word soon though her other favorite thing is yelling "STOP" when her daddy kisses me and screaming "MOMMY MOMMY NO MOMMY" when she wants attention and I'm hanging out with her human dad....she's stewie incarnate.
User avatar #88 to #84 - novabird ONLINE (11/17/2012) [-]
i have a feeling i could put a stop to it, but african greys are tricky and like to play mind games, then again they don't call me the bird man for nothing, i practically speak parrot sometimes, i have been around birds my entire life and have spent more time with birds than my own parents.

Reality. After having my bird two weeks, he broke his leg. $600 dollars later.
User avatar #68 to #67 - requesta (11/17/2012) [-]
aww shame Quackers arent even worth that much
User avatar #70 to #68 - wolfmutt (11/17/2012) [-]
Quaker* xD And he's lucky he's so cute. That was a year ago, I still have him. His foot healed up fine, luckily.
User avatar #72 to #70 - requesta (11/17/2012) [-]
They're top birds, I plan on getting a small colony of them
User avatar #76 to #72 - wolfmutt (11/17/2012) [-]
They're fantastic, very friendly and playful. And very chatty. ^^
User avatar #83 to #76 - idristhetardis (11/17/2012) [-]
My blue quaker loves to chat but isn't much of the petty lovey type. XD Me and my dad kind of named her after a dragon. Figures she has a heck of a personality. Her name is Saphira.

The bird that sits on my shoulder like a champ and grumbles over everything I say is our sun conure Li'i (Lee-ee, means little in Hawaiian. When we got her we lived in Hawaii and had a macaw... Thus the name.)
User avatar #98 to #67 - novabird ONLINE (11/17/2012) [-]
i had to make splints for both of my birds legs and carry her in my neck piece everywhere when she was a baby, she was very clumsy and had issues listening to me when i tried to stop her from climbing in her cage with one good foot, well she listened after that, ouch.

Birds are awesome, but having them as pets seems depressing when they could be outside flying. I want a hawk pet that comes over to hang out every now and then. We'd play video games and **** bitches all day

True that. I used to have one just like the one in that gif that I took in when my neighbors moved away and "set it free". Noisiest and most foul-tempered little **** I've ever met, but it sure was pretty. It loved to wolf-whistle at people, so that gif reminded me a lot of it.

Cockatiels are crazy! They're the cutest but mine is SO mean. If he was a person he'd have to be HEAVILY medicated. Then again, wouldn't all birds?
