How come he don't want me

was just watching some reruns of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and this episode came up, and well, lets say manly tears are here today. why is it, that sometimes they don't want us. and they just leave for good? I know many kids of whom are my friends and we were raised with out a father figure in our life... But it's made me realize that I never wanna be like him! I wanna be there if I ever have kids I wanna be EVERYTHING HE WASN'T

sorry not funny but the Feels just hit me hard, but yea... thanks not sure if repost, I checked and tried to cross reference if there was anything like this

"From what I’ve heard, Will Smith’s father actually left him. This wasn’t entirely scripted. Will went off on his own rant, and the hug at the end was genuine.
His character was just supposed to shrug off his dad leaving again and he starts to but then Will goes off script. That whole speech is coming entirely from him. The hug at the end is also genuine, actor to actor not character to character.
God, I will never stop loving Will Smith." I cried so hard.

Will Smith actually improvised this whole scene, his father wasn't there for him growing up. When his dad left, Will was supposed to shrug it off and just keep on going, but Will then went off script on his own. Even the hug at the end was unscripted, genuine, actor to actor.

This episode hit way too close to home. I remember crying when I first saw it, and it still made me tear up to this day.
