succeed... Freudian slip?

How is that Freudian? A Freudian slip has to do with slipping up and accidentally saying something sexual or withheld sexual urges.

and just like the people in new york it's only a small portion of the entire population.

Most Texans don't agree.
The petition has like 20,000 names.
Texas' population is over 26,000,000.

They had over 100,000 signatures as of yesterday.

Even then 100,000 out of 26 million.
That's not even close to a lot.

The problem is that not everybody can bother to look on the internet for where to sign it, many probably don't even know about it. Give the state a referendum, and they'll be free.

I live in Texas and everyone knows.
The people who signed are what we call "potatoes"

As a Texan, I can confirm this. I'm in California at the moment, but nobody's saying anything on facebook, because nobody cares.

Though I agree with your assessment, technically speaking that could just mean most Texans haven't seen the petition.
Though not all of the current signatures are even by Texans.

I live in Texas and it's like a massive joke.
The people who want it are just being plain silly.

Texas isn't trying to secede. Some individuals in Texas are petitioning for secession, but they don't represent official state policy or the opinions of most Texans.

The North under warmonger Abraham Lincoln pushed a war to greedily try and take back states which peacefully seceded.

And to your left, you will see a beautiful example of what happens when people are taught differently, and thus have different opinions.

(At least, I am inferring you two have been taught differently. If I may be so bold, might I assume that you have been raised in the South?)

No byposted is correct.
The North forced it when they tried to take back a fort in Confederate territory.

Well, he promised he would not send war ships to Fort Sumter, he did.

And at the same time, you had the confederates who had sent peace commissioners to Washington to offer to pay the south’s portion of the national debt and to pay for federal forts like Fort Sumter. Napoleon III of France offered to broker some sort of compromise, but Lincoln refused to speak to any of them. He wouldn’t see any of them. He was determined to go to war, which he did.

That is so different from what I have been taught here in Connecticut..

You know, despite all the people bitching about how having no budget is making our schools less effective, wouldn't you think that people being taught two entirely different views on one of the largest wars in American history would have something to do with that?

History is always written by the victor. I doubt there's any actual Public School which doesn't put a slant to the Civil War in this country. Any false claim or spin can be taught to innocent and compromisable children which will shape their mind forever.

It is up to you to look at history for yourself. Do you believe when the Jews say they were made into lampshades and soap during the holocaust, and do you trust them when it comes to literally "rebuilding" gas chambers to their original state in Auschwitz?

Lincoln gave not a **** about the slaves, you know that.
