expanding, duplicating, or otherwise increasing quantity has nothing to do with transfigureation, transmorgification or polymorphing in any way, shape, or form.
it can simply be done by hyper-cellular mitosis (done by hightening and de-limiting the metabolisim. You can do this with a few bio-chemichals if you know what ones) however for meat this may require some degree of necromancy, assuming you are trying to grow an un-cooked steak. magiscience proves wizards are dicks every time.

if you want to go in to baked goods, that is far more complicated and might accually fall under gamp's law

(it's exceptions, atleast)

I thought Fysics was a special magical course like arithmancy.

The magic doesnt simply 'create' new matter, it modifies existing matter so that the molecular configuration is suited to the desire of the witch or wizard.

kay, something I do not understand about harry potter, they're like hurr durr we can't make food, but they can change an object into an animal.

Here's a thought dickheads, turn rocks into chickens, then eat the chickens.

Find someone who has the magic to multiply food and send it round the world. Burn them at the stake

Muggles are dicks
User avatar #32 to #22 - anonymoose ONLINE (11/15/2012) [-]
attempt to burn them*

They just cast a spell on the fire that causes a light tickle and some illusional magic to make the muggles thing they're dying.

Actually you can't conjure food out of thin air (or multiply it). Hermione tells Ron about it in The Deathly Hallows when he complains about being hungry. You can only summon food you already have stashed somewhere. Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration, bitches!

NEEERRRDDDDD. Naw, just kidding, excellent information!
User avatar #72 to #50 - blackcomet (11/15/2012) [-]
I never read the books, but I assume the curse from The Deathly Hallows that multiples Beatrix's treasure is in the book. Even is you can't use the curse on food you could buy it and ship it with all that treasure.
#76 to #72 - Sunburn (11/15/2012) [-]
**Sunburn rolled a random image posted in comment #1575665 at MLP Friendly Board ** The object in Bellatrix's chamber was non-consumable. The curse you're thinking about was the 'Gemini' charm, and I'm sure that there's something written somewhere about it being able to multiply objects, just not consumables.
User avatar #77 to #76 - blackcomet (11/15/2012) [-]
Read my comment again. I said use the treasure to buy and ship food. But thanks for correcting my previous statement on the spell.

"It’s impossible to make good food out of nothing! You can Summon it if you know where it is, you can transform it, you can increase the quantity if you’ve already got some..."

You CAN increase the quantity. Learn to read.

Now I'm not really into the whole Harry Potter universe, but some of the sources provided by fellow commenters say you can actually multiply or enlarge food:
