MFW I'm working on a game for 4 hours fullscreen and I can't see the "windows shutting down in 10 minutes" window counting down until it's too late.

Windows: $200 Basic cost, but 40% higher chance of cardiac arrest
OSX: $2000 basic cost, and 99 cents per new fact learned in the iBrain store
Linux: Free, but must have more than a 125 IQ to use for more than 18 years without kernel corruption

but aren't we kind of programmed like computers? o_o And also our mind/body does actually auto shut down when we don't get any rest within a few days.

Actually, the only similarity between the human brain and computers that i know of is that they both require electricity to run. But our brain also requires certain chemical and hormone balances, also we aren't exactly sure how our brain stores data yet, we are getting there but computers we designed, so we know exactly how they store data.

In my opinion, most people probably think "Both run on electricity? Must be pretty similar then. Just all squishy and less plastic-ey." but in reality we aren't sure. Hell instead of binary code our brain could have it's own complex data system based on any number of different codes.

Oh, the other similarity is our brain has different parts dedicated to certain tasks. Like our optical center, or language center, akin to a computer having a video card and a processor, etc. Yet: If part of our brain is damaged, nearby sections can adopt the functions of the damaged portion in order to resume normal function. Try that with a computer and you'll find a computer that might not make sound, or be able to display its data visually on a screen.

I have a tought that you actually likes human biology or already a general practitioner :D
User avatar #34 to #33 - trollchildxy (11/15/2012) [-]
The prior. I have had a interest in the chemical and physiological makeup of the human brain for quite some time. Few psychology classes here, chemistry there, and a lot of google sickness / wikipedia syndrome. Just a very interesting thing, considering if you look at the basic chemistry of our universe, then compare that to the human form overall? It is an impressive feat of evolution (or even creation, if you're a creationist. either way, really impressive.)

I have the same opinion. We see each other differently. but inside? We are still a chain-linked chemical properties such as phosphate, nitrogen, even carbon and hydrogen. All linked perfectly different so that each compound have a meaning for human body.

By this theory, we can actually produce an artificial memory of our own. Total Rekall is actually one idea. But then, everything comes from outside body environment will need to be broken down, jumbling the artificial memory we inserts.

We can have long talk after this if you want :D
