Too bad he died early. Unlike today's politicians, he actually acknowledged the fact that America is supposed to be a secular nation

Did you know that Jerry Springer was one of his chief political strategists? If Kennedy hadn't been shot, there is a VERY, VERY good chance that Springer, a political genius, would have had a fair shot at the presidency one day.

Unfortunately, the only person who really got a fair shot at the presidency was Lee Harvey Oswald

Something interesting that I heard from my dad was that JFK actually wanted oil companies to pay taxes. There was this thing (forget the name of it) that was passed in the 40s where the oil companies told Congress that eventually the oil would run out so they should be given a right to keep all of the money they earn.

This ties into some of the many conspiracy theories that JFK was killed for this reason among other things.

In 1963, President John Kennedy wanted an end to the Federal Reserve System, which had a strangle-hold on the United States and virtually the world. By a simple stroke of the pen, President Kennedy dismissed the Federal Reserve System and ordered the U.S. government to restore its Constitutional-mandate of controlling the money. President Kennedy was dead three weeks later. When President Lyndon Johnson took office, he immediately rescinded Kennedy's order and the Federal Reserve won another round
QUICKLY! I NEED MY TIN FOIL HAT! I'm not saying I'm a conspiracy theorist... but I'm not saying I'm not one.

Of course, of course. Personally I don't know what to believe. My biggest concern is that Oswald might have not been alone. He might of actually been a fall guy if this book I have is true. According to it, Oswald was only one of a few different assassins sent to take Kennedy out. He made the first shot, but the shots were made so quickly that it'd have been impossible for it to be him alone. The rifle Oswald used could never have been used that quickly considering how the bolt takes longer to pull back and push back forward than it took for the second shot to hit Kennedy.
User avatar #104 to #95 - medewu (11/10/2012) [-]
True, but then you have people saying oh he was Marine, That's why his shots where so fast and accurate with the rifle. but still, 1 man being able to slip through Protection of the Secret Service and FBI? by hiding and that they did not check any of the places around there or have it securely sectioned off? To me that throws up a red flag, but hey what do I know? I'm just some crazy guy with my tin foil hat on to ponder on this stuff

I'm gonna hate myself for this but...

The clip is too short. You need the three seconds before and the three seconds after to get a full grasp of exactly what just happened. Right now the beginning and end of the clip just blend together and you barely register anything. Kinda looks like he's at his own private rave high on bath salts and he just punched himself in the face hard enough to dislodge teeth.

JFK is held in way too high of a regard. Not saying he was terrible, but, well...

http://www. youtube.com/ watch?v=3JHeAQ4rn9Q#t=14m43s
He was in favor of the Vietnam War

http://www. gwu. edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB101/vn02.pdf
Authorized the overthrow/assassination of South Vietnamese president

Yes, he kept us alive during the Cuban Missile Crisis. But his active attempts to murder their president probably contributed to the problem in the first place. He was still a great president, and I'm not trying to take that away. But the widely held belief that JFK was less of a warmonger then the presidents who came after him is just false.

And despite having proof, the red-thumb storm is brewing.

Well, I'm sure people would be criticizing Jesus if he was president too
Not comparing the two, just trying to make a point

User avatar #27 to #24 - suitandtie (11/10/2012) [-]
If there's no comparison, then there's no point. That being said, if Jesus were president and were authorizing wars and the overthrow/assassination of other political leaders, then people would be wrong to state that he wasn't as war-enthused as the presidents that came after him.
User avatar #30 to #27 - Metallicock (11/10/2012) [-]
What I mean is Jesus, by most standards, is the most highly regarded person who ever lived, but despite that, people would still criticize him because that's just how people are. Kennedy was a highly regarded president, but people are still going to criticize him as well.

What I'm trying to says is, you have an opinion, good for you. I'm not gonna thumb you down for it.
User avatar #32 to #30 - suitandtie (11/10/2012) [-]
I just noticed your name.

I like it.
User avatar #31 to #30 - suitandtie (11/10/2012) [-]
Of course people will criticize. Nobody's perfect. All I'm saying is that there's a difference between opinion and factually incorrect. I'm not arguing whether Kennedy was a good president or a bad one. I think he was pretty good. I know people who thought he was awful. Opinions. But most people seem to believe that he was completely opposed to any type of war and is the face of peace. And that's a complete falsehood.
