Actually here's a fun fact. In the Walking Dead universe, the concept of zombies never existed before the outbreak. That's why no one actually calls them zombies, they're walkers or creepers and such.

In the Walking Dead Game, Lee might say in the first Episode "Those keys are on that Zombie out on the street" I think they just call them walkers cause it sounds better.

i think robert kirkman wanted to pay homage to romero and identify them differently, like in Romero's films he considered them ghouls, thinking he created an entirely new monster as before night of the living dead 1968, zombies meant someone who rose the dead to do their bidding, the whole flesh eating bullet to the head ones were of Romero's invention.

although in Dawn of the dead 1978 zombie was mentioned once, Dario Argento owns the European rights of the movie and he called it "Zombi" over in Italy (i shouldn't have to translate the title) which spawned a Italian craze of zombie films for ex. Zombi 2 the unofficial sequel to Dawn and a lot of others hell of the living dead is another. zombie is a large misconception in today's pop-culture and should always be referred as ghouls

that's because the game is based on the comics universe, not on the shows

Two things.

1. What does that have to do with it?

2. Why would you reply to a 2 month old comment?

1-the comics universe is different from the shows,so Lee saying zombies doesnt really make what he said less true (assuming he meant the comics universe)

2-i was browsing thru some old comments out of boredom and decided to answer |:

in the comics they actually didnt call them zombies because it sounded silly

they couldn't say it with a straight face for the first months and when they finally could, lurkers and roamers had already stuck

Ah, well maybe it's different in the show like a lot of things. I sat in on a question board with the actors that played Glenn and Maggie and that was their answer for why no one actually called them zombies.

no he's not,in one of the BDs you can see rick reflecting on the whole situation, and saying something along the lines
"it's been # since the zombie apocalypse, zombies, took us sometime before we could say that with a straight face"

They really are supposed to be vampire-like creatures; out when sun is down, feed on blood, etc... In the novel hey were 'traditional' vampires, had garlic weakness etc...
