I actually didn't get to play it until two days ago. I finally decided to get a rom and try it out. It runs at anywhere from full speed to a quarter, which is frustrating, but I'm still loving it. 9 down, 7 more to go.

I honestly preferred Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess.

I never understood the overrated hype of Ocarina of Time was.
It was your normal "Lets save the princess".
It's storytelling and pacing wasn't necessarily the greatest in the world. It was innovative at best.
But that was it.

Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess was all about the 'greater evil'. And though Majora's Mask was really short, it told an epic story that was far greater than the story seen in Ocarina Of Time. The darker plots made were probably the best plots in the series.

And Majora's Mask ******* scared the **** out of me as a little kid.
So kudos.

I think the reason its so popular is that it was a big step up from the previous games.
User avatar #230 - jesusfrankenstein (11/03/2012) [-]
1) Majora's Mask -There's just something about the incredibly dark storyline I absolutely love. And it's creepy. It was creepy before that whole Ben creepypasta even existed.

2)Twilight Princess- Absolutely beautiful graphics, and the dark storyline was fantastic, although it wasn't really creepy like Majora's Mask was. And Midna!

3)Skyward Sword- Hardest Zelda game to date, I enjoyed the challenge...but felt the graphics could've used more oomph. I wanted to see graphics like the ones in Twilight Princess again, not a flashback to Wind Waker, graphics wise.

4) Ocarina of Time- Classic. first Zelda game I ever played, will always have a special place in my heart.

5) Wind Waker- I liked the vast world to explore in this game..although I never did get to use the Tingle Tuner...

Haven't really played any of the handheld ones because I never owned a handheld gaming device.

1.) Ocarina of time- I actually didnt play this game until about 2006, when i was in middle school. And i had already played and beaten Wind Waker and the original. It's a damn near flawless game, even now i play it.
2.) Twilight Princess. Same reasons as you, I had it for gamecube and wii, and even bought a gamecube last month just for this game, cuz i love it so much.
3.) Majora's Mask. I actually JUST beat it the other day, after playing bits and parts of it throughout the last 5-6 years.Incredibly dark for a rated E game, and the time system was really unique and challenging.
4.) Wind Waker. This was almost #3, it was the first game i ever REALLY got into, and it's still one of my favorites. The only reason it's not higher is cuz the constant sailing can be really tedious =\
5.) 4 Swords. Multiplayer Zelda game. 'Nuff sed

I sold my wii a year b4 skyward sword came out, so i never got to play it. Since wii U will have backwards capability, im gonna get the wii u and skyward sword together
User avatar #276 to #235 - jesusfrankenstein (11/04/2012) [-]
I never got to experience 4 Swords the way it was meant to be played... sadface. I never owned a portable Nintendo gaming device, still don't. I hope this can change one day. ONE DAY. being a part-time Walmart employee sucks ass man..
User avatar #277 to #276 - TheSock (11/04/2012) [-]
I only got to play a bit of the handheld 4 swords, actually. I was more talking about the gamecube, 4 swords adventures
User avatar #278 to #277 - jesusfrankenstein (11/04/2012) [-]
I thought you could use that for the Gamecube one too? Or apparently I got confused somewhere along the way. So much technology messes with my braiiin lol
User avatar #279 to #278 - TheSock (11/04/2012) [-]
you could use the gameboy version as a controller for the gamecube controller, but u
could also have up for 4 ppl playing the gamecube one.
1p- controls all links
2p- each player controls 2
3p- each player controls 1, p1 controls 2
4p- each played controls 4

I enjoy many games, as they all have things that appeal to me.

I think Majors Mask is the best Zelda game.

I liked the multiple side quests, the collection aspect to the masks, and I liked you could change the world using the time system.

Plus it was sweet to play as 4 different play styles.

I hope there is a sequel to MM, something that is similar in the gameplay mechanics.
User avatar #134 to #107 - thunderbirdbass (11/03/2012) [-]
I enjoy MM the most also, I think OoT gets so much hype because of how ground breaking it was back in 1998, it's still an incredibly great game, and I do think it surely earned its reputation, but I think MM is a polished, more refined OoT, plus the temples are cooler IMO.
User avatar #149 to #107 - imyourdaddy (11/03/2012) [-]

I don't necessarily want a remake of MM, but I'd love to see a new game set in Termina. Termina is more interesting than Hyrule IMO.
#113 to #107 - naui (11/03/2012) [-]
According to the official timeline of Zelda games, Twilight Princess follows Majora's Mask, so that's about as close to a sequel you'll get. Plus there is hints for a Majora's Mask remake for the Wii U or 3ds
User avatar #154 to #113 - hostilext (11/03/2012) [-]
There's a trailer for the Majora's Mask remake on Youtube. It's for the Wii U. No longer a hint, my friend. It's gonna happen!
User avatar #163 to #154 - cancerousiguana (11/03/2012) [-]
Those are fan made. But, Nintendo has said in the past that they would consider remaking it, and since they just remade OoT, it's a pretty safe bet that they'll announce it soon.
User avatar #170 to #163 - hostilext (11/03/2012) [-]
Ah. It would appear that you are right. My bad. Saw the trailer, got excited, didn't bother to check to see if it was legit or not. Hopefully they do it.
User avatar #168 to #113 - curtkobain (11/03/2012) [-]
Miyamoto is considering making Majora's Mask and/or A link to the past for wii u/3ds. I think MM will probably come out for 3ds since OoT is already on the system as well. He also said he wanted to make a link to the past in a 3d style.

I personally would rather see A Link to the Past remake considering it's my favorite

1)-Majoras Mask
2-Ocarina of Time
3-Skwyward Sword
5-Twilight Princess
6-Minish Cap
7-Link to the past
8-Zelda II
9-The Legend of Zelda.
Sadly I've never played the gameboy games, that's why I didn't list them.

I'd definitely recommend "Link's Awakening". It's definitely odd, but worth the time. It felt to me more like a kid's game, but I'm going to make your day a little. The Manager of the Indigo-Gos mentioned a certain big hit from the band, otherwise known as "The Ballad of the Wind Fish". It directly relates to "Link's Awakening", and I had a bit of a moment when I first heard that.

Ocarina Of Time= Overrated

Not saying it sucked and sure it was amazing, but defiantly was not the best Zelda game out there. There's Wind Waker, Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess and what not. They all are better because there is more things to do, and you can actually do more stuff after beating the story line.
