I know that feel, bro. I know that so much.

I hate what-you-see-is-what-you-get programs so much.

Yeah, reminds me of IT class at school. I'm in the 11th ******* grade and they're still making us make powerpoint presentations. That's like a math teacher still trying to teach us multiplication.
#11 to #10 - thumblocked (10/27/2012) [-]
Really? We spent like, a week on hardware, history and such, then jumped into python.
#73 to #11 - havenhearth (10/27/2012) [-]
implying python is something very advanced
#77 to #73 - thumblocked (10/27/2012) [-]
Python is easy. I wasn't saying it was advanced, but still more programming related than powerpoint....

I can relate to this one - doing a degree in Software Engineering, and currently studying Command Prompt. Stuff that I've known for 2-3 years.

I have two computer classes right now.
One is Web Design, we learned HTML and CSS already and in the middle of Photoshop.
The other is Computer Applications (mandatory class, didn't choose) we are learning how to use Word. The other day when "teaching" us about references and sources, he explained how to copy and paste a URL.

I'm taking an Advanced computer Programming class in my highschool... I've learned more in 5 minutes on You need to login to view this link than I have in that ******* class >.<

Thank you so much, I've wanted to learn Python for so long now.

Fixed.
User avatar #52 - digeredoo (10/27/2012) [-]
All the classes we have here are just using the desktop. Nothing useful, such as the run program and where to find all your important **** .
I would just sit there not listening because I knew all of it and the teachers would think I'd fail instantly then speed through it.

Seems like computer classes these days are kind of failing..
User avatar #44 - XxJACKISHERExX (10/27/2012) [-]
my computer class is all about typing in excel.... boring ****
User avatar #46 to #44 - themasonrocks (10/27/2012) [-]
This year we learn java, next year is C++, and out last year he just asks us what we want to learn and he will teach it. This years third years are learning to hack.
I hope it get's better for you!
User avatar #48 to #46 - lolwatthe (10/27/2012) [-]
That's the opposite order we learned in, first we learned C++ and now we are learning Java.
#45 to #44 - lordumpalumpa (10/27/2012) [-]
and visual basic, donĀ“t forget visual basic!
User avatar #49 to #45 - darkthundertwotwo (10/27/2012) [-]
Only because people use visual basic in school it don't mean it is a crappy programming lanuage. It depends on what you use it for. VB was my first programming lanuage and besides Java and C++ I still use it today , e.g. I created useful tools with it or some game hacks. It is also good to understand the syntax and logic. I guess you only create programms with like messageboxes or inputboxes which adds or multiplies numbers. But I can really recommend it to you to start with programming stuff.

User avatar #29 - heartgoldawesome (10/27/2012) [-]
Two years ago, when we just started having computer class in school, more than half of my class singed in. Douches, mostly, tought that we will only play videogames and stuff like that. The next year only 4 outta 18 people continued it. This year only me and some other dude.

I'm from the UK and I am considering taking an A level Computing course, if anyone has any advice it'll be greatly appreciated
User avatar #55 to #26 - kyrozor (10/27/2012) [-]
Stay out of information systems.
User avatar #57 to #55 - emprex (10/27/2012) [-]
How come? Boring, complex?
User avatar #58 to #57 - kyrozor (10/27/2012) [-]
Boring as balls.

It's basically computing without programming and learning about inner mechanisms.

It's more about computer applications and the likes of that.
User avatar #60 to #58 - emprex (10/27/2012) [-]
Thanks for the advice man, hope you have a nice evening/day
User avatar #16 - pocketstooheavy (10/27/2012) [-]

I have some stupid typing class that uses Microsoft word and the other microsoft stuff.
I already type fast, and i already know about Microsoft from my old school.
Also, my IT class is making us do retarded Powerpoints. All i want to learn is the computer parts and how to build a computer. Not **** i already know.
