If you're looking to do this to your friends: <- ding.vbs <- lol2.bat <- wunstall.bat <- ded.vbs <- dong.vbs <- pop.vbs <- EndDorgem.vbs

Save all of these into one directory. You can copy and paste into notepad and save, but make sure you change the extention from .txt to .vbs or to .bat where specified.
'ding.vbs' is the file that initiates everything, so the thing the person clicks on that's disguised as a porn folder is just a shortcut linking to ding.vbs
When you've created the shortcut, right-click and click Properties. Change the icon and the name of the file.

In order for this to work, you must have Dorgem, a webcam utility that, when configured, will automatically start taking pictures using your webcam when it gets loaded up.
The script will run Dorgem for a few seconds (Dorgem will then take pictures), then proceed to log the user off.

Have fun tricking your friends and don't forget to post me any results! I want to see how far this joke can go.

Love from OP

it wont let me save ding as .vbs, only txt
User avatar #96 to #94 - suchadumbass (10/23/2012) [-]
Check the box underneath, change it from (*.txt) to (*.* All files)
Then save as .vbs

Need help with Dorgem. This pops up, what do?
User avatar #457 to #448 - suchadumbass (10/23/2012) [-]
Does it take pictures automatically when it's loaded?
User avatar #464 to #457 - sommerli (10/23/2012) [-]
No, the program pops up. Im sure there is some scripting that has to be done in the "Store settings" button
User avatar #475 to #464 - suchadumbass (10/23/2012) [-]
Click Source and make sure you've got the Capture Source to your webcam.
Then click OK.

Then click Store Settings
Then Add
Choose 'File'
Call it whatever you want.
Change 'Interval' to 1 Seconds
Click OK

Make sure the Auto Capture box is ticked on the main interface
All will work perfectly when you click Exit

Just run the script, make sure you know the directory it saves the pictures in, and after you log back on, you can check the pictures.

#485 to #475 - sommerli (10/23/2012) [-]
Everything is fine now. Thanks

How do you save these to a directory?

I'm not very good with computers...
User avatar #515 to #513 - suchadumbass (10/23/2012) [-]
Open notepad and save these all as individual files, named after how I've named them here.
Make sure when you save them that you change box underneath the box where you put in the name from "Text (*.txt)" to "All files (*.*)"

It's 'ding.vbs' that initiates everything.
User avatar #571 to #515 - trimageryan (10/23/2012) [-]
Ah, that makes sense, I accidentally saved them as .txt.

Thanks for the help

Download and install Dorgem, the webcam utility called on this line that takes the photos. Check other replies by me in this section if you don't want to have the webcam take photos.

I'm thinking about doing a home security/convenience/laziness system.
Example; When someone comes through the front door and doesn't press the button on their keychain, the house will close and lock all of its doors and send an automated message to the police (probably a bit inconvenient)
Also, it will do things such as run a remote motor to turn on the kettle, turn lights off and on etc...

in the future hopefully game dev, so java i guess
what's c++ strong for?
#236 to #195 - leodamanhunter (10/23/2012) [-]
Don't learn java if you want to make games. C++ is the way to go for game dev. I've tried to make some small games in java like a platformer shooter and a dual stick shooter but when you take keyboard input with event listeners in java it only reads one key at a time so if you for example if you wanted to press the up arrow and the left arrow to go diagonal you would have to store boolean values for whether or not the key is pressed and read it from the there. In C++ you can take input from multiple keys at once therefor avoiding a lot of inconvenience. Also the java virtual machine eats up a lot of the cpu. C++ is good for just about any type of application from games to entire operating systems. Buy a book about c++ also. It really is useful and good for quickly referencing code. Sam's teach yourself c++ in 24 hours is a good book to start with.
User avatar #449 to #236 - haveagoodone (10/23/2012) [-]
thanks, the real reason i wanted to learn java was because minecraft is done in java
sad reason but yeah
User avatar #442 to #236 - buttinspecter (10/23/2012) [-]
Plus, DirectX uses C++. It's definitely the game development language.
User avatar #197 to #195 - suchadumbass (10/23/2012) [-]
C++ is strong for everything.

Entire operating systems are coded in C++

Have a look at C#, it's not the best of languages but take a look at a description of its purposes.

User avatar #201 to #199 - suchadumbass (10/23/2012) [-]
