anything beyond a robot the size of a planet would be useless, due to restrictions from the laws of physics (e=mc² to be precise) it would take months, years, decades, even centuries for the robots (depending on their size) to do so much as move their arm up and down.

hate to be 'that guy' but it has to be said.

themoreyouknow.jpg - too low level to upload images, probably because i make comments like these and get thumbed down.

i have a question... if i have a one light year size stick and you have your head at the end of it... and i push the other end... the stick pushes you instantly or does it take a light year to do it? and if is instantly... the energy travel faster than the speed of light?? i need your help... i cant sleep without knowing...

As far as i know, and have heard, a push travels at the speed of sound (you send a series of compression waves trough the object, and they travel at the speed of sound). Light travels at the speed of light. As you should know speed of sound is slower than the speed of light, nothing goes fast as/faster than the speed of light. Since it takes 1 year for the light to cross a light year (duh), it would take a sound much longer, meaning the push wouldnt be instant...

A push travels at or near the speed of sound because it is a vibration through the material.

I read about this somewhere before. From what I recall, implying the stick was strong enough to not bend or break, then yes, it would move instantly. What happens after that I don't remember.

After a google search i found the video. Though it was with a laser pointer pointed at the moon. Not sure what actual matter would do. I may be wrong.

Here's the video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lR4tJr7sMPM

They're in an Alternate Dimension created by the Spiral Nemesis in which they have Full Control of Reality.

Where does your physics work in to that?

Someone only understands basics of the laws of physics.
Right now we are both traveling faster then speed of light and not.
Earth is rotating, its spinnign around the sun, sun is moving in galaxy, galaxy is spinning and all that movement would make us move faster then speed of light.
BUT due to sizes involved no one specific piece is moving FTL.
It gets far more complex once you start taking molecular movement and QE in consideration.
Long story short, physics is far more ****** up then highschool physics class makes it seem, and nothing is as simple as it seems.

You know the laws of physics are most likely not absolute?

Also, it's a cartoon, the fun is in the fantasy.
