I was presented with an issue today, which will ultimately lead to the legalization of voluntary euthanasia in my country. I decided that I would further define my country's position on the matter, and I urge all member nations to pass similar laws based upon these tenants if you are presented with the opportunity.

Policy regarding voluntary euthanasia:

No. Voluntary euthanasia is considered suicide.
And suicide is an immediate one-way ticket to Hell.
Read Dante's Inferno. You get turned into a tree.

Kind of, Christians (well Catholics anyway) tend to view suicide as a grave sin, so for the most part. I remember when I was young and still Catholic the priests used to talk about it, and how we are God's property, and ending one's own life was wrong because we are intervening in God's plan for his property, or something along those lines.

tl;dr : Catholics think suicide is a sin which one will go to hell for.

While we might not think it is suicide, the Catholic church considers it assisted suicide, and condemns it in the catechism. They think sick and injured people should be helped to live, not given the choice to die painlessly. Here are the sections of the Catholic church's catechism pertaining to this issue:

You can make a nation, be it a democracy or a dictatorship, and you decide how you rule your people. You can be fair or you can be cruel and harsh. You solve issues and stuff to define how your government works. I recently started jailing environmentalists because I hate hippies.

The issue

Children as young as eight have been spotted gambling in some of Degeso's seedier casinos

The debate

1. Social activist Alexander de Vries is outraged. "Gambling needs to be outlawed immediately. It's no wonder children are becoming sucked into the vice, with adults setting such a poor example. Gambling is a stain on Degeso's international reputation and it must be stopped!"

2. However, Crown Casino chairperson Miranda Trax says, "What's wrong with children gambling? It prepares them for the realities of life, teaching them that success or failure is not due to hard work or intelligence, but the roll of the dice. Besides, if kids weren't gambling, they'd be spraypainting trains."

So my options are either ban all casinos, or openly recognize that children ought to be allowed to gamble. I really wish there was another option which would allow me to place an age restriction like we do in real life on gambling, so that only people of a certain age can be admitted into those establishments.

I'm just going to dismiss this issue.

I hate when you get an ultimatum.
User avatar #44 to #43 - ikachan (10/20/2012) [-]
I agree. Seriously, banning gambling over this issue would be such a gross overreaction.
User avatar #55 to #41 - holsety (10/20/2012) [-]
I chose 2 because why the **** not
User avatar #68 to #41 - jakeandhistoe (10/20/2012) [-]
I dismissed this one.

Yeah, I'm like 4 hours late. Sue me.
User avatar #69 to #68 - ikachan (10/21/2012) [-]
Dismissal seems to be the best option in this case. Again, I wish there was more options than the ones offered -_-
User avatar #70 to #69 - jakeandhistoe (10/21/2012) [-]
Yup. It's either one extreme or the other. I do know that banning gambling will lead to a damaged economy. Can't remember what the other one will do.
User avatar #71 to #70 - ikachan (10/21/2012) [-]
Yea, that uncertainty related to the second option is slightly upsetting. :P

Economic Collapse Looms!

Big business, fed up with over-regulation in Tohsakan, are heading offshore in ever-increasing numbers.

The Debate

"Good riddance!" says noted environmentalist Jacob Help. "Sniff that air! It's never been so clean! At last, our society is freeing itself from the consumer death-trap! I say it's time to take the final step and outlaw capitalism once and for all!"

"This is a catastrophe waiting to happen," says the Chamber of Commerce. "Think of the consequences! Without big business, where do the jobs come from? Where do we get our medicine? Our cars? Our latest fashions? There are dozens of useless regulations the government could abolish today to make life easier for commerce, and it's high time they did."

Well... that's quite direct.
User avatar #33 to #32 - cadaverbox [OP](10/20/2012) [-]
If you don't see a middle ground, you can always dismiss the issue.
User avatar #35 to #33 - jakeandhistoe (10/20/2012) [-]
Yeah, I've already dismissed issues before. I'm just weighing up the implications if I choose either of them.
User avatar #37 to #35 - cadaverbox [OP](10/20/2012) [-]
Well, one would be giving in to the hippies which would **** up your government and the latter would be continuing the capitalist regime which would do nothing if you already were doing that.
User avatar #38 to #37 - cadaverbox [OP](10/20/2012) [-]
Me, I'd choose the latter because it keep capitalism but abolishes useless regulations.
User avatar #39 to #32 - ikachan (10/20/2012) [-]
Personally, I would choose the latter. Keeping the free-market and easing regulations would do your economy wonders.
User avatar #40 to #39 - jakeandhistoe (10/20/2012) [-]
Yeah, I've actually chosen that route. Now I just have to wait and see how it affects me.

User avatar #83 to #82 - yunochan (10/23/2012) [-]
I have nothing against Christians. I actually think the fact they can believe in something so strongly is beautiful. I respect that they chose that belief, but I'd like it of some Christians (not all, but some) could do the same and respect the fact that I don't.

And that smaller fraction of extremists that actually think that killing people to send them to a better place excuses them of murder are retarded.
