Oh my god. As a classic car guy, I almost came. Holy ****. Words cannot describe what would happen if I saw that. I would die happy. If not right on the spot.
<Related, one of my three classics, the current project.

Great car you have, I love the classics :) This is my car. Doesn't have power steering (yet) but I still have a great time driving it.

70 Torino, right? Maybe a 69, I'm not as sharp with them as I should be. I think I mentioned down there that I wanted one to put an AMG Benz drivetrain in. Why? I don't even know. But hey, if there's one without a motor somewhere, it could be a cool unique swap, you know?

Ahh, lucky! I like them a lot.
I've always kind of enjoyed oddball swaps like that, the options really are endless, so why do the same thing everybody else does?

Nice. Any tips for a guy restoring an old car? I guess it would probably depend on the car (Triumph Spitfire from '79), but I was just wondering if there aRE ANY GENERAL RESTORATION TIPS YOU HAVE.

Ahh, a little brit roadster, you lucky bastard. First and foremost, the internet will be your best friend. Unless there's that crazy old bastard in town who drives british sports cars every day, because then HE will be your best friend. Get a couple repair manuals (Chiltons and Haines are two very good ones) And find free parts catalogs just so you know what to shop for. Also, don't be afraid to ask for help. My Galaxie has a bit of rust in the frame, but that hardcore level of Welding still intimidates me, so I'm calling in the help of a friend with more skill

Actually, there is a crazy old guy with the EXACT same car. He's been a pretty big help. And thanks, I'll go see if I can find any of those manuals.

Yeah, people with the same car will be a HUGE help, because they've encountered problems you're bound to encounter too. There's probably an online forum for Spitfires as well, and literally EVERYBODY on a car forum will want to help you, haha

I know about the forum, though I've only been there once or twice. One time I was there I got some free seat covers and bumper. I need to go back on there...

I need to find a Ford Galaxie Forum, that would help me out SO much. I have random questions that nobody else could ever answer, you know? That, and you get better at things just by trying. Such as this Galaxie is my first major work resto, body work, welding work, interior work, etc. I've never done any of that before, but I have to jump in and try it, you know?

I know exactly what you mean. When I first bought mine, it was a piece of ****. I had nobody to turn to either, so I was just kinda like "What do I do?"

Same here, man. My dad had his somewhat decent advice to help, but a lot of this is me looking at things and going "Well, this makes sense, so I'll try it." What could go wrong? You mess up a panel or something, you fix it or replace it. These aren't 5 million dollar cars, don't be afraid to try things on them. You can always fix your mistake

Seeing as this seems to be getting such a positive response, look at my truck.
INB4 small penis jokes,
I know :c
1976 F250, 390 cubic inch V8 and a 4 speed trans. It's in waiting while I work on the 63 Galaxie pictured above though.

I love these 70's Fords, my old man had half a dozen of them before they all got scrapped. This one was saved, and now it's mine. Such a loud truck, to

They're the manufacturer wheels for a 1977 Ford F-250 Highboy, they're kind of hard to find but boy they do look good on that truck

Thanks! Normally all I get are stupid small penis jokes. But I live out in the country, this **** comes in handy and is actually useful, haha. Out in Los Angeles, this would be a stupid small dick truck. But here, it's a genuinely useful beast. **** downed trees, just go right over the ****.

Hey, I would get called a lesbian or something if I actually got one of these. People will find a way to judge, but who gives a ****? Small penis jokes or not, you have a kickass truck. They don't, and probably drive something mediocre, so whatever.

Exactly! I've got three friends, and they have the three lowest static dropped cars in the state, and I'm fairly sure (Once the truck actually decides to cooperate and start again) that they can park underneath it, lol
<THAT would be a brotruck. Mine is a genuine lifted workhorse. There's a difference, that truck will never go offroad. Mine rarely goes ON road, lol
